Here's three questions that are better suited for the recruiting board, but I'm posting them here anyways: next year Kyron is not here. Most here are down on MAL and Edwards. White is not a true PG, and neither (in the short term) is incoming David Duke. What exactly is next year's plan for the point, if MAL only improves modestly and Duke only flashes potential but is not yet ready for prime time minutes at the point? Should we bring in a JUCO point as an insurance policy, figuring that a spot (Edwards?) opens up? Lastly, would that upset all the chemistry and finely tuned recruiting story lines told to David Duke etc?BTW, I regret that I keep defaulting to JUCOs as our answer (as I have done previously with Young). But please note that JUCOs come in as juniors as would be the two young men who are disappointing me this season. Edwards is not an option. You go with White, MAL and Duke, grit your teeth and bear it.

Yankee, I'm not disagreeing, but state your reasoning....

Reason being you can't have 4 guys who were recruited to be PG's on your roster.

I always felt like if a kid came into college and wasn’t a BE point guard then he would never be a BE PG. Cotton proved me wrong on that one. Perhaps Maliek can do the same or MAL can improve.
But right now MAL is playing like he is still in HS (which is the reason he got stripped from behind and had his shot swatted a few times).
The drop off when Cartwright is out of the game is astonishing. PG is definitely a huge question mark next year.

MAL Doesn’t even really show point guard tendencies

The turnover MAL had when he got it poked from behind was just absolutely terrible. Zero court awareness. That was awful. The worst part about it was you could see it coming from a mile away on TV. Agree. But worse, Lindsey was trailing the play. Hopefully he yelled and MAL just didn't hear him. But in fairness to MAL also made a great bounce pass to Jackson in traffic who went to the rim and missed a 2 footer.

Metinks there is some revisionist history going on here. PC was Cotton’s only D-1 offer as I recall. He was heading to a JUCO before a desperate Friars’ staff gave him a call very late in the process. My recollection is that most were wondering when he would be transferring out to a Program where he would get to play,in light of his poor performance as a Frosh. Thankfully,he and PC stuck with it.The rest is history. he was actually our emergency replacement for Joe Young I think

MAL Doesn’t even really show point guard tendencies...bingo. expected the shooting...thought I'd see a dunn type passer.

Debating whether he showed he was a BE player as a frosh vs if his jumper had potential are two totally different things Tons of great shooters in low majors or even D-2

I kinda remember his coach in AZ trying to get him to transfer and Cooley convincing him to stay. Think that was after his soph year when he showed improvement correct....that was after he dropped 15ppg and showed he could flat out shoot the rock he had options at that point what a save by the staff, program might not be where it is today

The turnover MAL had when he got it poked from behind was just absolutely terrible. Zero court awareness. I thought the same A PG is supposed to look up and immediately be able to count/notice how many defenders are in front of him. By the time he got to halfcourt he should of noticed there was a guy behind him. its like reading a for sale sign without actually reading it......you still know what it says a PG should look up and read there is only 4 defenders there
