It's ok. We're going to pass at least half next year with the same players. Ours have upside. Theirs dont.

Really nice win by our Friars today. Shows PC can play with anyone. The NCAA early announced top 16 for the Big Dance rods had a Butler as a 4 seed. Not too shabby. And it was done with Kyron, Rodney and Holt having less than stellar games. I was in the house. It was a blast.

I thought Holt was pretty good. 4-5 from the floor, 12 points, 4 boards, in 18 minutes. I wish there was a way for him to avoid foul trouble, so we didn't have to see Young for 13 minutes of 2 rebounds and nothing else.

And it was done with Kyron, Rodney and Holt having less than stellar games. I was in the house. It was a blast. I disagree about Kyron's game. Joe Hassett, in the post game, complimented Kyron saying he had a dominating 2nd half. And Holt had a solid game, not great, but solid albeit saddled with foul trouble. In reading this thread and the Butler game thread, I have to shake my head at some of the posters' reactions. Yes it was a rock fight but we showed a lot of grit and scored 48 2nd half points in the UPSET of a nationally ranked team. For God sakes people!!! I think we've got a lot of "fans" who just like to complain. And BTW, I thought Ed's coaching in the 2nd half was superb. Good pairings, sat Bullock a bit, and his team played pretty solid D throughout the game. Our team has a few flaws and we're not an NCAA team at this moment. But in 90% of games we've fought hard. Proud to be a Friar. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

They never quit.
They play hard but not very smart.
Of course we are proud of them thump - even as we complain because it is so damn frustrating at times - eg Diallo match up not advantaged, Lindsey 6 shots, Fazekas in and outs, etc. etc etc.
Spent good part of game calming the snarls around me even as I watched Butler stink up the court - was thinking we would somehow win this sloppy mess and we did.

Heard some negative talk about Butler coach Holtman then saw the stupid end of game technical foul...always thought he was wound tight but really had not negative takes on him, unlike the Hall's "embarrassed" Willard...anyone care to enlighten?

I like holtman...game was over and he was hissed we were in the bonus at the 13min mark of the second half. Dmac would be going apechit if he was a butler fan. It's part of the deal and evens out in the end.

Maybe his frustration was building from the continuation call for Kyron about half way through the first half....

I thought the refs were pretty good all game...I didn't hear any criticism in my section.
From a fraternalistic standpoint, I must say it's a beautiful thing to behold how Walk and Thump have bonded over their Love Of Refs
It certainly proves the adage, namely; there is much more that unites us than divides us.
Hey you two tigers...enjoy your blissful relationship

Calls were 8-3 in favor of Butler then. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Maybe his frustration was building from the continuation call for Kyron about half way through the first half.... While I saw the play live and also on replay once, my first reaction was "he was on the way to the basket". When a player picks up the ball off a drive, he is considered to have begun the "habitual motion" to shoot at his basket and hence "in the act of shooting". dex, I can't believe you had something nice to say about the officials! PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Hey maybe I am mellowing while watching you and walk purr like kittens in a verbal embrace of words laced with affection and not arsenic
Yeah I am past that missed call when Nova tripped Alpha in admittedly a clumsy drive to the hoop...it cost us the game but hey no big deal
there will be plenty of wins over #4 when Cooley brings in all those Top 100 studs.
I have even forgiven you for defending that son-of-a-snitch that called that foul on Ben thereby handing Nova a BET championship and snapping our
consecutive Championships at ONE

Didn't we retain possession on the alpha trip? Could be our best half court offense.
