We aren't getting a 5th year guy. Cooley said he's not a fan and we can't get the good ones even if he was. And doubt we are finding a 2 guard that is going to come in and make an impact next year. I think Diallo and White make solid jumps anyway, plus Drew adds depth.
I still think we have a good shot at 5-3 next year...Nova and X will be up there, Creighton really depends on what Foster and Patton decide this off season, SJ should be good even if Lovett leaves, Butler should be tough as usual although they lose 4 guys, Marq loses Fisher/Johnson/Reinhardt, SHU has no PG for next season, Depaul is rebuilding. Gtown will habe talent as usual, but you never know with them.
I really don't mind if Bullock stays or goes. He isn't a wing at all imo, and he is soft at the 4. Hoping we see a lot f Holt/Young at the 4/5 next year...I'd honestly rather see Zeke return than Bullock if Zeke can develop at all as an upperclassmen.

Lindsey, bullock, Diallo, fazekas, jackson should all be playing the same position. It will be very hard for Diallo to make the expected soph jump with bullock and lindsey on the roster. So if bullock returns, it's either in a reduced roll for Diallo or we're in the same boat. I think he leaves. Not necessarily what I want but we'd benefit in 18-19. In today's game, a couple guys can play this position at the same time. If we want to peg players into specific blocks: Diallo seems capable of logging minutes at SF and SG (Cooley has stated that he is capable of handling PG) Lindsey is capable of guarding opposing teams best guards; while his lack of handle keeps us from pegging him as a SG, it opens the door for a bigger wings to be on the court at the same time, presumably with better handle. Bullock is our leading scorer and rebounder and he can play PF for SF. He hasn't improved like other players under Cooley. Fazekas - I would like to see how he looks next year, but I acknowledge that his status could be up in the air. Jackson - Not looking like a great option to get minutes vs this group of wing players.

All of the players you listed are below average ball handlers for their position on our roster which creates a major problem when trying to get a shot off. Remember lindsey "played" the 2.....but he ain't close to one.

Holt is going to get minutes at the 4 next year, pushing Bullock to play some 3. Cooley likes his interchangeable parts, but it hasn't worked out too well this year as we have 5 SF's, no center, and no 2 guard.

Thinking about it more, it's definitely better if Bullock is back and bought in. I just hope he has more of a Batts mindset rather than a Tyler Harris...while he is a head ache some games, Bullock is one of the more talented forwards in the league when his head is right. If he does leave we better hope Kalif is ready to make a legit step up, and atleast one of Watson/Dickens are ready to help off the bench.
I'll be concerned if Maliek can't drastically improve his handle by bext year. I think he can. And I think Alpha handles the ball pretty well for a freshman his size. He has a smoothness to his game that makes me think he can be a 1 2 or 3 in time.

I wouldn't say Diallo has a below average handle. He rarely turns it over.
I think we are forgetting that Bullock is essentially a sophomore on the court. Yes he has been in the program for 4 years but nothing prepares you better than getting live game experience. I think we are better with Bullock than without. If we had a freshman that averaged 11 ppg and followed up his sophomore year averaging 17 ppg we would be thrilled. Let's not be too quick to wish Bullock elsewhere. He will play some 3 next year. Odd man out looks to be Fazekas though. You can't run Jackson off and he may take that Ricky Council role next year depending on how the freshmen bigs develop.

Once again...everyone expects these upgrades from the current frosh which means reduced minutes for the current Jrs. If white's getting more minutes at the 2 and Diallo's getting more minutes at the 3 and the incoming frosh are getting any minutes at the 4/5, where does that leave Lindsey and bullock?
..and call bullock whatever you want. he's got one year left wherever he plays. thought I read he'll be 23 next year.

walk went to see him this past week and he hardly played...consequently walk was forced to offer one of the most hiss-poor scouting evaluations ever presented on the pathetic Board. However we all appreciated the herculean effort if not the content.
FYI walk...in a case like that you need to report every nuance you observe in warmups and even demeanor on the bench. His facial expressions and his muscular or lack thereof structure. How he runs or even form on a FT attempt. Maybe some video if you could borrow a friend's I-Phone too. LOL
walk is Dematha good?

How many did lewis have? My boxscore lists him and Watson with no points. Looks like Xavier had 10 points. And I assume Watson was playing against Carlton last night (UConn) - also listed but no points next to his name.
walk is Dematha good? ..does a shoe smell..
Dematha's very good but I've not seen them live this year. They lost the kid to Washington who's the projected #1 pick in the nba draft and Harvey who is an athletic freak (ND) doesn't play with the passion needed to win that league. The top five teams in their league (Dematha, Gonzaga, Oconnell, Paul VI, St Johns) are interchangeable.
When looking at players in this league it's not the typical he's going to PC so he should be the best player on the floor. He was fine when he was in but he didn't play a ton. Coach at O'Conell is Morgan Wooten's son (Dematha) and ain't going take the sulking bullshit. Also Good Counsel blows. My last in person report for a recruit committed to PC was jamal barney and I walked out of the Comcast center wondering what in the hell we were doing. Believe that was on the other board and I got killed for saying the kid sucked. I'm sure I saw "Q" play multiple times and remembered nothing about him. Frisome didn't appreciate that.

plan Bs for Watson? I didn't say that. I was hoping to see Michael smith and didn't...or a 6-8 2G - didn't see that either. What I saw when he was in was exactly what I'd heard. Good...most likely will be good but don't expect all frosh team. I'm not sure how the kid will play anyway.

Well on our way now Walk. St. John's and Georgetown both get wins today. Gonna need an upset today, otherwise the "experts" were right and 9th place is where we appear to be headed.
