Then why would kmac make that comment? Wouldn't you prefer PC players be with their team after that debacle of a season? No because I think the experience of practicing together against quality BE players and playing a Pan Am schedule far exceeds playing the lower rung teams from Italy, Spain and France. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Marq was looking to add a couple 5th year seniors. You think wojo would rather have Marcus Howard playing for Ed Cooley than working new players?
Kmac must be mistaken.

I can see it both ways. My sense is that the dividend associated with the European Trips is more aligned with young teams, in that the time away is great for bonding, team chemistry, and getting a head start on organized practices within a system. Young kids get the opportunity to play and succeed within the system against lesser squads while getting to see other parts of the world.
On the other hand, I feel that the more established and experience teams probably don't benefit as much from foreign trips. In these cases, it may make sense for certain players to break away for a spell to train and develop their individual skills. Comparable to the "big man camps" of the past, the pre-combine type training that Alpha must be doing (speaking of which, I didn't see any reports that he's actually been invited to the Combines?) or a guard going off to work with Sham, training/playing at a higher level ho probably focus more on individual development during the offseason. Not knowing anything about the PanAm games, it might provide a more competitive venue for development purposes for a portion of the summer (?)

I agree 100% 82. I could also see Val stepping in to avoid BE embarrassment. And transfers are probably eligible as well.

If and When Big Ed accepts the Michigan job, the Ruane Center could very well lose the tenancy of the Big East Pan Am team this Summer. Too friggin funny

2019 Friars starting 5 on Big East/Pan Am roster. Glad to see a tangible benefit of Ed coaching the team. Head start on the season for our core guys.

Makes for good competition for our starters this summer. But also exposes a lot of our players to getting dinged up if the competition is physical.

No one from DePaul, Marquette or Xavier on the roster, perhaps due to those schools not wanting to have their players participate? I can't imagine Howard or Marshall being left off unless they either weren't allowed to go or asked not to.
I am a bit surprised we put 5 guys on the team and no one else has more than 2. I wonder if some players just didn't want to participate for one reason or another. You could put together a solid lineup with Baldwin, Akinjo, LeBlanc, Bey and Ballock from guys who have teammates on the roster but aren't on it themselves.
This should be a great opportunity for our likely stating 5 to play against some great competition in both practices and games. I hope they all play well, improve and above all else, stay healthy.

I believe Baldwin is hurt....none of the gtown frosh on the team...and the kid from DePaul.
As mentioned, it was going to be a tough sell.
