Might as well start a PanAM games thread as we move into the summer.
So trying to figure out who Cooley will have from BE rosters trying out. No Hauser boys. None of the seniors who graduated. Should be interesting.
And who is on his staff for this adventure, has anyone heard?

This has disaster written all over it. If you're one of the guys who went through the NBA evaluation process are you running the flex for USA or working on your game? Are transfers in eligible? Figure gtown will be well represented but I heard a frosh may be leaving.

Why disaster walk?
Troublesome perhaps but “disaster”? How long is this commitment by Cooley anyway? Perhaps the speed of recent transfer signings indicates that sense of urgency - is your concern centered around pursuit of 2020 recruits?
Wonder why and who of the Georgetown freshman is considering a jump since three made the All Big East Freshman team?

Definitely not a "disaster". I highly doubt Cooley is running the flex for Team USA, so that's not really a concern. This is a good way for players to get their name out there. I'd imagine they'd all be excited for the opportunity, so no worries there.
Recruiting definitely not an issue either. The Pan Am Games aren't until the end of the live period, Cooley has a cell phone to talk to kids, and the staff knows what to do in his absence.
As for a Georgetown freshman transfer, if it is anybody, I'd imagine it is Grayson Carter. Barely played last year and was recruited over.

I'm on record that I think Cooley's focus should be on player development and recruiting this summer. BUT disaster is for team usa. Unless other countries are limiting their talent pool (and they may be - I don't follow it), it's asinine to think we can field a competitive team from college players from one conference. Especially when you consider the transfer factor. For example, is the kid from NC St at Gtown eligible?
I guess if they get Powell, Howard, Baldwin, Alesander on board they would be covered in the backcourt. They still need size and rebounding. I suppose Nate has a chance to make the team but he's such a bad rebounder. They could use the kid from Creighton who just declared. I just don't see us being competitive.
not carter

In 2011 it was made of D-League players. Now it is limited to one conference and no pros. Hopefully Watson makes it. He will face better competition than he will back home against Young. Unless Young is playing for Team Canada..................

I could see Ed taking Nate along and Alpha if it doesn't get in the way of his workouts. If Alpha isn't available and Ed wants a second player from PC then I could see AJ getting the nod.

I would wager that, if chosen for the Pan Am team, the respective BE teams would send those players to Ed and not partake in their team's pre-season trips. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Then why would kmac make that comment?
Wouldn't you prefer PC players be with their team after that debacle of a season?
