Nut,
I agree completely. Watching Watson and Young consistently lose their man on defense, and be in terrible position to rebound is hard for me to watch.
As for MAL, he'll get better. He has to because his whole game has been brutal through 15 games. There is nowhere for his game to go but up. White would be getting all his minutes.

Next year we will have two Top 50 PGs but perhaps nobody to run the point? Hopefully Duke can hit a FT or jumper because we will be playing with fire having two guards log big minutes and neither being able to shoot. I'm willing to bet White & Reeves make up your starting backcourt next year with Alpha on the wing and Holt/Nate up front.

Wasn't shooing a weakness for MAL per the recruiting reports?

Wasn't shooing a weakness for MAL per the recruiting reports? Absolutely was. We all figured his dribble penetration skills would buy him time until his shot developed.

MAL doesn't concern me as much as big men who don't block shots and rebound. I see guys like Edwards and MAL come in and get a quick 2 or 3 rebounds in 4 and 5 minute stretches. Rebounding and defense are about desire as much as anything. Watson has at least given us something offensively so he warrants being on the floor.

Watson doesn't appear to have that shot blocking length. Guess I always assumed that'd be dickens although there were reports he was going to be redshirted over the summer...the rebounding makes no sense with that body and his offensive footwork. MAL had some success with dribble penetration earlier in the year.

How's MAL compare to the kid who was going to gtown? Not sure but I saw some of Vt/Cuse and Bede is really struggling at VT.

I checked and you are correct: Edwards has 37 rebs in 206 min compared to Watson's 35 rebs in 233 minutes. Let that sink in a minute.

That's ridiculous.
Here's the thing with Watson... shot goes up and 95% of the time he's not even within camera view when the camera guy focuses in on the rebound. It's not as if the ball is bouncing off his hands and I'm screaming "grab the F'ing rebound!" Instead, I am screaming "Watson where the F are you"?

looked up waters...he was 34th per espn...MAL 38th. Gtown could use waters.

It's all about finding your man or the closest man and getting a body on him. At his size if he learns how to box out boards will just fall to him. They are boxing out like ballerina's
