Thumper...cut the BS, not a SINGLE Friar played well before there was 7 minutes left in the game. Good grief, what's next pcJohnny telling us a win is a win? I mean at some point you just have to believe your lying eyes aren't lying. C'mon for crice sakes
Draif posted here what someone posted elsewhere about KC being injured on the floor and alone.
I noticed the same thing. All the players left the floor like the zombies they were yesterday. For a split second I thought that Cooley raised his arm in a dismissive disgusted way on the sideline. During that split second or 20 not a single player went on the court to attend to KC. Finally the trainer went out there ALONE and I swear Cooley wanted to utilize the timeout to talk to his zombies but as the seconds ticked and KC ain't getting up, Coach then went out on the court ....it was uncomfortable for me until he went out there. The trainer got a walk-on and somebody to carry KC off the court as he couldn't put any weight on that ankle.I guess I could be imagining all this but I doubt it...I suspect tv cameras may not have captured the entire episode....but if so perhaps someone could speak to it here.
Meanwhile...given all the ankle problems I am calling for the termination of our Trainer. We march on the Canavan Sports Training room at sundown.
ps heard an unconfirmned rumor from thefriarman yesterday that there had been talk of negating the $5K prize a fan earned last week by hitting the half court shot bec his toe was over the mid-stripe. Personally I thought Cooley should have gotten the kid to be a walk-on bec he was the best shooter in B+W that day.

I think we had 5 or 6 assists yesterday too. I'm glad we got the win but this team is not playing good inspired basketball at all. Every year we hear how these guys love each other and this team is close but it sometimes doesn't appear that way. Injuries aren't helping but even with a full roster I'm not sure how much better we would be playing. I really expected more from this senior class this year.

My mother taught me not to say anything, if I did not have anything good to say.

They all seemed very excited towards Planek and the rest of the team playing during that run.

not hearing that this year. That is true. It's usually a big theme, and it seemed like it was true in past years. Have not heard much this year.

Fortunately, I had a commitment that took me away from watching the game on TV yesterday.
- The lousy Assists/Turnover metric is a huge concern for me, whether it's the result of a lack of trust/chemistry among teammates, poor field goal %, sloppy ball handling... The first step in reversing the trend, is getting the ball to Watson (black hole or not) when he's down on the blocks; - The lack of emotion and apparent grit among our seniors is a huge concern as well. It's their time to act like the Leaders (i.e.: Henton, Dunn, Bentil) who they've played with over the last 4-years. We shouldn't have to rely upon White, MAL, Watson and Holt (from the bench next semester) for tenacity; - I don't mean to disparate Tom Planek, but it's concerning if we need to count on him as the "next man up" going forward; - It seems that each season, I ask: Why our players are allowed to trot out on the court wearing low top sneakers? and, whether the team gets flu shots? An ounce of prevention can be worth a pound of cure.
Based upon what I've read, I'm going to save myself the frustration of watching the replay, and do something better with my time.

'82 it's safe to watch just the last 7 + minutes
not too many refs call a foul on a block/charge with 6/10 of a second left in a tie game
fortunately one guy did and oh yeah he called it on them WHEW

Last play of the 1st 1/2, I watched Lindsey and Jackson go to the same spot twice while KC was trying to run the play. These guys have been in the program for 3 and 4 years and they are clueless on where to be for a final play of the half!!!
....gotta love friartown...

I read several comments suggesting that our players are standing around too much. Without watching replays, has Ed employed the "Flex" much lately? The system was a big part of our Offense in past years.

Kudos to Tom Planek - channeling his inner "Teddy Ballgame"
