Drew Dinnhaupt‏ @drewdinnhaupt_ 1h1 hour ago Per ESPN, James Gatto funneled 100k+ payments to three players, who, in exchange, committed to college programs affiliated with Adidas.

Quite the resume for Rick...infidelity, lying, paying for an abortion, prostitutes for players, buying players, 5-game conference suspension, forfeiture of wins...
And if Ed Cooley were to leave tomorrow, some PC fans would want Slick Rick back on Smith Hill...

I think it's safe to assume that PC fans are beyond Pitino at this point. Ed Cooley's fresh air is in sharp contrast to the stench following Rick at this point.
I get concerned about the "tip of the iceberg" comments by some pundits. How many high level programs could be implicated, and when they look to backfill the posts left behind by dismissed coaches, what sort of collateral damage will be caused for innocent Programs that loose their current coaches for bigger paychecks and the "bright lights" of the High Majors (that is, unless the NCAA moves swiftly, and in a manner that makes the perpetrating programs - radioactive)

This thing is getting ugly. I wonder what happens to these recruits and how many schools get put on probation.

This is getting very ugly very quickly...
Speaking to friarbrown and other solid posts here - Please be VERY careful naming any names in speculation here - (particularly recruits) IF mentioned in media reports, etc. then fair game...
Several names may come to mind but please do not speculate and point fingers...
While "Table for Two" and many others look very exposed here, (finally), the US Attorney stated "call us before we call you - we have your playbook"...
It's always about the $$$, eh?

Cripes I hope justice visits these bad MFers and dishes out severe punishment ie Friggin Prison
I am not optimistic...ncaa or doj both are institutions that fail to dispense equal justice
so besides some short-term gratification I am experiencing, methinks there will be problems for a very very very few coaches
Additional gratification would be welcome if doj sends some AD's to prison...but don't count on it
The stonewall has commenced with the statement posted earlier here from that rat bastage Rick Pitino
he goes with the Sgt Schultz defense: "I know nothing" Yeah you bastage...your assistants are out there brokering big time deals w/o your knowledge
all over again like with the whores....you rotten no good phoney POS...I hope some assistant or sneaker exec rats you out
As a basketball fan like the rest of you fellow nitwits, how can we have faith in widespread justice and reform, even beyond the DOJ, when
we see how the ncaa covers up for the elites like UNC and their 18 years of academic fraud. Roll that around in your head a little...a university exists to educate our youth...failing that task by their Presidents, Administrators, ADs and professors is way way worse than even betting on your team or throwing games. Education is almost everything and the lack of it is contributing greatly to the devolution of our society and our values.

None of this surprises me. I have a friend who signed to play football at a SEC school back in the late 90's. On signing day he received a duffel bag with 10k and his mom got a brand new car. He went on a recruiting trip to another school that a famous rapper was associated with. The rapper had a party at his house with video vixens running around. My friend wanted to go to that school but the other school was paying more so his mother made the decision for him.
