Like Yankee, I enjoy '94's optimism even if I cannot share in it these days. SHU will be extremely motivated tonight as Willard will give his team a stinging rant about their "embarrassing" loss to us at the Dunk. Remember he used that word 3x at that post-game presser and I am sure he will remind them over and over again before game-time. Cooley will have his hands full priming the Friars in the same fashion. Ed can also use those words in his favor to motivate the Friars as Willard shows no respect to them!

The key to tonight is foul trouble...I look for the Friars to really push the tempo and pound it inside...get some of their starters on the bench and then the Friars can exploit the Hall's inferior depth...

do we have more depth than them inside?

I think another key for tonight is hope their guards continue to suck. Carrington, Powell, and Jones have all sucked in BE play; all shooting under 40% in conference play. After them you just have to contain Delgado and Desi...it's amazing how much better we match up with them this year after losing 2 stars and they lost 1.
We'll probably see a lot of Jones/Carrington/Powell/Desi/Delgado with Nzei as their other big and he is undersized. They also have Rashed Anthony who plays minimal minutes and Holt posterized him last meeting.

Hey walk give the kid a break...he just hasn't experienced as much anguish as us long time Friar fans. In due course he will be experiencing the same disappointments as many of us. '94 I told you before and I tellya again...you are a terrific Friar fan.
Meanwhile walk go over to the Contest Forum and there are plenty of targets of opportunity for us ...you know specimens that are picking PC to win tonight at Newark. I can't believe how many there are....would be an easy victory for me tonight but for a few who copied my picks. Might need a secret ballot over there.

so we have better guards and better forwards? You know Carrington/Desi/Delgado is a pretty solid group, but they probably have some of the same problems our fans say we have. None of those guys are a number 1 guy for a good team, and while Delgado is a beast in the paint, he isn't a rim protector and doesn't have much help. Especially without Sanogo...I'd say we are better coached, have more quality all around, much better PG play, and match up well. Also, swapping Young for Q is huge in a game like this.

do we have more depth than them inside? Tonight, the Friars have more depth inside... Zach Braziller @nypost_Brazille 20h20 hours ago More Ismael Sanogo (ankle) is out for Seton Hall against Providence Wed, per Kevin Willard. Uncertain Saturday against St John's #shbb #sjubb

Did pcfriarsfan94 graduate in '94? If so, he's had enough anguish to become jaded.

Ok '94, do you throw in the towel and admit that this team is seriously flawed?

I've never said they aren't flawed, but I saw a major opportunity ahead and they blew it tonight. Should have won.
I still think next year will be an NCAA team.
And while I was hoping for a NCAA push after realizing how weak the bubble is, I've said all along I'd be very happy with an NIT if we could get there. Sucks knowing we blew a few games at this point though. Shows you we aren't far away, but we need to find a way to get over the hump by next year.

Hey I think I know how to get over that hump...give the ball to KC for last shot every game at nutcracker time
Maybe not Mr. Clutch...howsabout Mr. Consistent

I don't have a problem with kc taking the last shot...the driving left into bigs needs to end.

He has to be more decisive if he wants the last shot.

Smarten up walk...everywhere KC goes there are BIGS for crice sakes and his FG% going to his right is around 0% albeit he's only gone to his right maybe 5 times in 3 years. So I was thinking that Big Ed has become quite predictable with last shot scheming and the opponent knows it. So I continued thinking wondering who else do you trust with that last clutch play? I then concluded my thinking with the conclusion that there is nobody on the team that can be trusted with the game on the line.
So what was said in pre-season is also true today...there is no star on this year's roster. Not a one.
