OK walk it's good that you stay on point and don't revert to personal chit and historical BS so I will respond to your basketball oriented post. Be sure though that I am locked and loaded if you go off message again. To your point about Jenkins and Nova (no question Jenkins is a sniper and nothing more)....the other side of the argument about the game is that one could have expected Bullock and /or Lindsey to score a dozen points...or maybe really pushing it 14 points? If either one did, we likely win the game. How often have we had just ONE guy in double figures? Look it up and report back to me. You know and I know that Nova has a very good team but by no means a great team. They have two very good players and some good players. Now sir, that is precisely why the Friars, who don't have a single very good player, nearly beat them.

worse than talking to mrs walk. 71 says we win 5 of 7 if we play like we did against Nova. Again, against Nova our three supposed best players shot 9-30 and turned the ball over 7 times. He did not say, if we play defense like we did against nova (which was ok - they still shot 45%), AND our three returning juniors play better....
Jenkins missed open looks and has been shooting like chit.

What a stupid post Monday Morning QB walk who doesn't play Pickem or pre-season Predictions. Jenkins was cold...howsabout Bullock for crice sakes you lughead So Jenkins is cold when he shoots poorly, with no credit to PC's D. So we got lucky that Brunson had seven turnovers with no credit to PC's D. PC's difficult offensive game is cuz they stink (is that what you are saying here Walk?). Positivity as to the opposition team.Negativity as to PC. I see a pattern here. You are consistent. I was upset with the BC,DePaul and St.Johns losses. Not the Nova ones.Did you expect PC to win on 2/1.Were you not expecting a blow out? see last paragraph....i firmly believe that if the friars had developed a winning way by defeating BC, Depaul, and St.Johns, teams they should have beaten, that they actually would have won the Villanova game. growth is expedited by learning a winning attitude. now, all we can hope for is personal progress from the younger players, and hopefully some recruiting good fortune in the next two signing periods, spring and fall. +

I was saying Nova played similar to how they did at Marquette in the last 10-6 minutes of the game. We had our chances. When Diallo hit that 3 to cut it to 2 we should have had a lead at that point. And we blew chances after that 3 as well. We also missed 2 front ends I believe, we must lead the nation...at the same time, I do think the refs favored Nova. They missed an obvious trip on Diallo that lead to an empty possession and let Nova get away with a few travels. Holt hurting the ankle didn't help either, he missed a bunny down the stretch and turned over the offensive rebound. Sucks because we could have took that one, could have closed out SJU, and should have beat Depaul. Win just one of those and we are in a different spot right now.
With how weak the bubble is, I think 9-9 and a 1-1 BET(2 of X, Butler, Creighton, Nova likely) would have us close assuming we finish 6th or 5th. RPI would be around 48-51...20 wins= bubble, 21= lock. 19= NIT, 18= NIT bubble...including the BET.
I guess we finish 9-9. The next 3 are must wins. Beat SHU and think we can get to 7-7 going into Creighton.

So this translates into we are a 3 seed in the NIT as of today, right? Seems about right. We will need at least 4 wins to get us in. Hey at least for another 4 days we are undefeated against the rest of that field at 4-0 The shocker on that list is Georgetown. Syracuse certainly helped themselves with the big win against Virginia today.

How can Lunardi have the Hoyas on that list, guess that win against Oregon? Wonder if his list changes with Hoyas losing to the Hall today.

Cuse is playing great right now...not sure if it will last for an invite but that va win ain't gonna hurt.
Gtown played a great nonconf sched. I assume them being on the list was before today.
The bubble is awful and seems to get worse annually. I wouldn't count on the BET to get you across the finish line. Remember that we were out had we not beaten creighton.
Not sure if we'd be a 3 in the nit. Don't they play favorites to reg season champs?
Dex - if you want lindsey to get a dozen points, I'd recommend increasing the shot attempts. 6 is weak.

Walk I agree with every single word you posted
Our thinking is usually pretty close when you keep it to basketball

What sucks is if we took care of Depaul/SJU, or took advantage of Nova's poor play at the end of our last game we'd be projected in a lot of brackets right now. In either of those 2 scenarios. Forget the BC game, because we just got beat that day. The Depaul game was absolutely blown, and we should have beat SJU.
If we ever finished 9-9 with wins @shu, But, X, Depaul, @sju and a win vs X/Butler/Creighton at the BE, assuming we were a 5 or 6 seed, then we would be close I'd guess. Would have a rpi around 50 maybe a tad higher or lower projected.

I really hope some of you guys are right about the 5-2 finish. I just don't know what to expect with this team. Maybe the week off does them well and they regroup and surprise us all. The injuries will help us and playing some of the weaker teams in the league helps. Ball boy said something good earlier and I agree if we had beaten BC we may have played better coming into the Big East. I hope we go at least 5-2 but I still don't think we get in. Those DePaul and SJU losses will haunt us in the end. Someone build a time machine so we can go back and replay those games.
With that being said I think this team could dance next year if the freshmen grow and our juniors all return. I'm not expecting much from the big next year and my hope is they can provide much needed size, rebounding and p on a some defense.

The BC loss we simply got worked over and played terribly wire to wire.
The DePaul loss was an epic collapse.

And sju was keno ball...yet our superior defensive guard play forced Brunson into 7 TOs. Amazingly those two BE games put us right there. I suppose you could argue that we don't beat Marquette if we beat sju because that's who we are.
I agree we should be able to get in next year with the same cast but as posted elsewhere I could see a disaster.

Walk I don't understand that either. We played good defense against Nova actually. I've never seen them turn the ball over like that. SJU is a more athletic team than Nova and we don't have the athletes on the perimeter that they do. If we had gone zone they would have beaten us worse. I don't know why Cooley didn't try to slow them down and make them play a slow down half court game. I'm sure they will make the adjustment next game hopefully.
