Here's an interesting stat, in 2 games this year against SJU, Nova has turned the ball over more than 20 times in each, yet they won both games by 13.

In the interest of transparency, I predicted 3-4. we aren't real good but Cooley won't let them quit. That's a great thing btw...he's the real deal.
My only knock on our great coach is when he let's his friend and great singer Jeffrey Osborne's cousin sing the nationa anthem...the guy takes about 4 minutes to belt it out Plus many poor souls stand till we get a basket so that takes up about 15-20 minutes.
Last game they had a little girl maybe 10 years old sing...she was an unqualified huge hit and got a prolonged ovation and Big Ed was smiling like the cat that ate the canary. No...pls understand it was not bec she was young...tyhis kid had a voice to die for
I have spoken

Congratulations to all of the Pats fans here! Not having a horse in last evening's race, it was an amazing game to watch This morning, I thank the Good Lord that I am not an Atlanta Falcons fan! Matt Ryan became Boomer Esiason in front of our own eyes last night...

A win tomorrow night gets us back in the conversation...3 top 25 opportunities after that.

What conversation? Margin for error is zero...maybe 1 loss. So if we lose tomorrow are you going to post how we can get in if we win out? Look at who we've beaten.

The bubble watch conversation. We'd be added into the mix with a win. Sweeping SHU and Gtown would be huge and we have big opportunity coming up. I still think we finish 9-9.
Sanogo is out tmrw.

Also, if we get 9-9 we will be a team that can get in with the BET...20 wins after the BET would have us in the last 4/first 4 conversation is my guess. Would have as very close. 21 and guarentee we are in.

I think we end up finishing 5th as Marquette has slid lately and we have a favorable schedule compared to teams 5-9 in the BE...I honestly like us at SHU, and think they can take 2 out of Butler/X/@creighton. Then 2 or 3 out of Marq/DePaul/@sju. I just have a feeling this team is going to finish strong based on what I've seen and what we have ahead...
9-9 and 1-1 at the BET in that scenario very likely gives us 3 top 25 wins(1 from the BET), 4-5 top 50 wins(5 depending if Vermont wins out), 11-12 top 100 wins(SHU/Marq/Gtown/Memphis all in the 50-80 range likely), and 3 or 4 solid road wins along with neutral wins vs Memphis and a top 25 BE team. RPI around 50... I'd say that scenario gives us a real good shot, but 10-8 and 0-1 would be interesting since we'd be missing the top 25 BET neutral win but would be the clear number 5 team in the BE plus still two top 25 wins/4 top 50/and a bunch of quality wins 50-100 plus a win at SJU helps slightly....bottom line is 20 wins likely has us legitimately in the picture worst case, and 21 is no doubt.

Winning at shu means we'd have 4 Ws against 8 and 9..... That ain't putting us in any conversation. I'd also recommend completing our resume prior to the BET as that has proven to add close to zippy.

I give you credit, you are the most optimistic Friar fan. You always have the scenarios worked out. With all my heart I hope you are right. But if this team gets to 9-9 in the Big East (5-2 the rest of the way) Ed Cooley should be Big East coach of the year. There is no way with the talent Ed puts on the floor, that this team should be 9-9 in this conference heading into the BET. I look at it like this: 1. We are 0-5 against the top 4 teams in our conference, with Villanova at home being the only game that we were even close to being in with 8 minutes to go. The rest we were blown out of the water on, and it was mop up city with 8 plus to go. 2. The Seton Hall and Marquette games both could have gone either way. They are good wins, but we could have easily lost either or both. 3. We have already lost to St. John's and DePaul. 4. Georgetown games were two good wins. 5. While we could be 6-5 had we beaten St. John's and DePaul, we could also very easily be 2-9 with a losses to Marquette and Seton Hall. 6. When I look at this team, we look a lot closer to a 2-9 team than a 6-5 team as we have played ok vs. the bottom half and not well vs the top half.

Like Yankee, I enjoy '94's optimism even if I cannot share in it these days.
SHU will be extremely motivated tonight as Willard will give his team a stinging rant about their "embarrassing" loss to us at the Dunk. Remember he used that word 3x at that post-game presser and I am sure he will remind them over and over again before game-time. Cooley will have his hands full priming the Friars in the same fashion.
