amazing how Redgate has flipped on Cooley
has celebrity changed cooley since he toiled in the vineyards of fairfield?
did cooley mis-handle Chooch?
is redgate just a big wannabe?
scary times in friartown...always a day late and a dollar short it seems
does redgate see an eventual payday from Chooch...so he will stick like chris driscoll glue?

SO if he stays at PC we see him as a future first round draft pick and the very reason we can compete with Syracuse types but now that he's transferred there he's not good enough to play for them.... YES!!! Chukwu is a once every 10 year player to come to PC. Cuse and the rest of the blue bloods get 1-2 Chukwu's a year just about.. ....gotta love friartown...

..the only thing more surprising than PC landing a top 100 7 footer is PC landing one from Fairfield prep.
There were definitely games when chukwu outperformed carson in the first half and didn't see PT in the second. I thought carson got a pass this year (could have been injury related after depaul). SO if PT is the reason, it makes a ton more sense than the other stuff.

I hope we never take another kid from Prep while this guy is the coach. Guess what coach, PC had no inside scoring presence last season, unless it came off an easy dish from Dunn. If your boy had any offensive skill set, he would have played 30 minutes a game. But he didn't so he played 10 minutes and Carson with a limited offensive skill set played the rest. Potential is there for Chukwu, but he wasn't ready offensively last year. Big difference playing against Staples, Wilton and Ridgefield High than the Big East. Any 7-2 kid can look skilled when going up against 6-4 kids in the middle. True A-hole.

He wasn't ready defensively last season either...kids got potential, but those comments are funny.

And yes, I have heard that Cooley has gotten a bit of a big head in last few years....Wondering if its true after all these guys seem to want out....many with plenty of PT in their past AND their future. "Uncle Ed' he may not be.

"Uncle Ed' he may not be. Not everybody loves tough love, and I expect to see at least one player bounce from the team after each season. I think it's pretty well documented that everybody deals with transfers every season; it's just the environment we're in right now. I do fault Cooley for being completely out of touch with Pascal, but it was obvious from the start that there other factors were in play here, highlighted by a lack of class and disrespect for coaches and teammates (and Kris Dunn specifically who passed up on millions of dollars to play with his teammates). I think you may be stretching things a bit, but I cannot completely disagree with you. It can be easy to generalize, but there have been many interesting variables within each of our xfers..

“I think you’re going to see a completely different player because it’s in him,” Redgate said. “The guy’s an NBA player, he’s not a college basketball player, he’s an NBA player.”
Well then why didn't you tell him to declare for the draft out of high school if he's so good? You should have told him he wasn't a college basketball player two years ago, save everybody a lot of grief. Next time, speak up sooner, jerk:-)

Looks like the youthful plaque of instant gratification has a few adult conspirators as well. Shameful comments by Redgate. This is why we have so many disillusioned kids, guys like this one. Reckless and immature. Chukwu would have gotten just what he wanted this season with the Friars. Now he sits for a year (a year he obviously doesn’t need according to the prescient Redgate) for a future with Syracuse that is far less certain in November of 2016 than it would have been in November of 2015 with Providence. Dumb. Ed has to be ready to strangle someone over this.

A few of the younger high school/prep coaches are living their lives through their D-1 players. Sad but true.

So Cooley was "completely out of touch" with Paschal (please use his properly-spelled name going forward)? I guess the complete coaching staff and the members of his team were also "completely out of touch" (I've been told by several players they this hit them out of the blue). I've heard Cooley speak privately to this young man and listened to him talk in glowing terms of Chukwu. Like a proud dad!
Fact is, there were are lot of things rolling around in this kid's head, one of which might be this character (Redgate) filling this young man's head with grandiose ideas. Impressionable minds (perhaps another term for immature minds) are vulnerable. While I really wish this kid success in the future, I think he's got a tough road ahead at the Cuse, particularly if he's easily influenced by others with selfish (or questionable) motives.

Coach has always been very sure of himself. Please recall his introductory press conference where he predicted a national championship. Has he gotten a bug head? Give it a rest. Of course we kniw Pitino is a model of humility. Same with Jimmy B, Calipari etc. If course we need a rese5ved, humble coach who wins national championships. What a joke

You better have a large degree of confidence if you want to survive the coaching game.

Actually it's not a joke...Heard it from....wait....people who know more than...YOU!
Question...What do Cal, Pitino and Jim Boeheim have that Ed doesn't???
Bit of a stretch on there. I love confidence, but he needs to know his players. They need to trust him.
Look, I love that he is our coach, but kids may be seeing something that you....even a self-identified "big-time donor" do not see...I have met Ed plenty. Perfect guy for PC. But he may be getting a bit distanced from his players. Batts and Cotton (almost), Fortune, and now Paschal Not seeing these last 2 coming has really hurt his teams. I thought same thing when Prime Time happened. Guys waited until next day to go beat on people.....no coaches got ANY wind of it? Problem.
Barnes had a coach at dinner EVERY night with team.
