Info: Hopefully some rumors pop up soon. I find it interesting that our 4 2015 commits are from Fl, IN, MD, and NC. Last year's group were from CT, TN, CA, DE and Germany. So PC recently has not had a lot of success in New York or New England outside of Chukwu. Obviously many kids play in prep school so the geography has changed a lot over the years. The prep school coach may be in the east and the AAU coach out west. Hopefully PC is an attractive opportunity and Ed gets the chance to choose from multiple candidates.

we ain't getting the assoc head coach from Mich St unless he's fired....i'll stick to the original commitment to sham moving everyone up the line....unless you're not happy with someone in the line and it's time to make some changes....

I know it was mentioned that FiFi and Blaney were out recruiting last week in the interim. If Ed deems them able to do the road work, then promoting from within works. But not every assistant coach can be an accomplished recruiter. I wonder who does the bulk of player development. For example, Bentil was a horrible free-throw shooter in the OCC but really improved by late in the season. If the guy who spends the bulk of time working with the players is FiFi or Blaney, it may be counter-productive to send them out on the road for extended periods of time. I wonder how much time Simon was away from PC on the road versus in-house and who else was on the road recruiting w Simon?

Simon, Blaney and Cooley 95% off campus seems to me about right

Simon is a big loss, I don't know promoting from within fills those shoes.

Simon, Blaney and Cooley 95% off campus seems to me about right Someone, (Friara or Rock?) previously said that this is a crucial hire. I am 100% in that camp. It is way more important than if LaFleur or Blaney left. Simon did the heavy lifting on the recruiting trail. His fingerprints are all over our 2014 and 2015 recruits save Kyron and maybe Fazekas. Except for Cooley himself, this is the most important position for the program. No mistakes allowed. And its time for LaFleur to move on...to anywhere. There, I said it!

Can't Jackson recruit?

I went to HS with Andre. Great guy. My father played basketball at Rice and was very close to the program. So when Kemba credited Andre after the National Championship, it was real. But I have been underwhelmed with what I've seen and heard since he joined us. His impact on the recruiting trail definitely has been a head scratcher. I thought for sure it would have been resulted in more talent than we've gotten, particularly at the guard position.

I share this opinion.I thought a lot more would happen on the recruiting trail---especially after the kudos from Kemba. Seems like a nice man. But does he have the fire in the belly that Cooley and Simon have? Does not seem like it.

Info, how can any of us objectively know if Andre is or isn't doing a good job? Honest question, how do you reach the conclusion that it's time for him to go? I really have no clue who is or isn't getting the job done. The only reason I know on Simon is some personal knowledge and, of course, being the top assistant on historic Friar teams and being hired away at such a big raise tells you a lot. LaFleur, Jackson? No idea. What am I missing?

He did bring in Cartwright.....But agree, underwhelmed, unless I'm missing something. Bringing in Battle would be great and finding a way to keep Shammgod would be ideal.

I heard today that Battle is going to be hired. So long as the year off allowed Mr. Battle to recharge his batteries, but not lose his drive, abilities and recruiting mojo and contacts----it will be a great pickup. How will he and Dre sit in the pecking order???

No idea. What am I missing? Judging from watching him only, he seems like he could use a little more energy. That could be fixed by simply asking LaFleur to take Pete Gillen's class "Sidelines 101". A month w Pete and I think Andre would be ready for next season.
