One I've confirmed xf'd to UVa. I expected it and as far as 3-4 guys who came in and got no playing time last year I thought they would leave too. They are now So's and didn't hit portal. So am I expecting a good year... No. Not given the schedule which should have been an advantage in '22, but won't be'23.
They have started recruiting Fla in the spring when they have their HS season and committed a B late (Restrepo).
I was v.surprised that the two Spain natives are returning. One, because he had a poor '22 year. The other because he already has an MBA and I think will the first athlete to compete (here) while having an advanced degree. The Covid stuff has been strange.
Eight newcomers most of who committed in the fall/'22 will likely see action dependent on what foreign talent is brought in during spring recruiting. Whether the eight are practice players or get playing time remains to be seen.

.....it was Austin Rome a defender who started a bunch of games, that transferred to UVa.
Other players from last year, that don't seem to be returning:
Armaan Wilson Mario Pina Tomas Magnusson Brain Lopez Aiden Melville Jaden Perryman Jonny Nixon

The soccer schedule is up: friars.com/sports/mens-soccer/scheduleIt's a real challenge. As of now I don't see a better than .500 year. Brandies to end the season at home (a non-div 1 program)?

Wow: Don't have time to go over it now but the bomb I expected since last winter dropped. Looks like the AC's have gone to their roots in Portugal. Major changes.

Roster is now up. friars.com/sports/mens-soccer/rosterAs noted, some big changes - lot of international players, other transfers from D2 schools, lower D1, etc. Two "surprise" freshman who haven't been listed before, and one recruit Pearse O'Brien who is supposed to be pretty good - is not listed on the current roster.

Is the kid from Stonington still there, he was a frosh last year Yes, Sam Montalto will be a sophomore this season. Also, Norwich is a military school - but an active military commitment is not required after graduation (like VMI or the Citadel).
