Forget depth we don't have BE players. Everyone other than carter and Oduro would be 10th man on a tournament team. Sad to hear, especially after being juiced as we were preseason by our "depth."

nobody is losing more than we are and it doesn't matter with the portal quick scan of BE stats shows a lot leaving (actually the conference could be pretty bad next year). Uconn/marq/creighton have quality coming back (not sure about Kalk) Creighton loses just about everyone…assuming Alexander is going early to nba. Seton hall loses a ton Sju will turn over most of top players. Most of the league is in same situation as us…but without a Hopkins type of player.

Kudos to Carter who’s played himself into a likely first round pick and Oduro who carried this team all year and bailed out a very mediocre coaching job
English this year has not been great and even got out coached by Cooley in the first GT game . It’s tough to be learning on the job in the BE , I thought PC rushed this hire a bit and went against hiring more experienced coaches . Not saying this is a Keno Davis hiring but he was hired after one year after Drake
Looking ahead most of us know what this roster looks like early …likely worse than the current one and if they miss the dance this year and next then you can bet his job will be on the line

Amazing how people on these boards can say we only have 2 BE level players and in the same breath say what a mediocre coaching job by a 35 year old head coach in his 1st season in the BE. We were picked to finish 7th with Hopkins and it didn't matter who was the coach. Can't have it both ways. We either have subpar BE level with a very good young coach that will only get better or we have a mediocre coach with decent BE level talent overall.
Which is it?
....gotta love friartown...

Ticket, Pierre, Barron are definitely BE players. They just aren’t 3-4-5 on your team, probably 5-6-7. Garwey will be a BE player eventually, but certainly not this year. And again, who knows what happened to Floyd this year

Creighton - does kalkbrenner get a covid year or is that done?
Mike - imo Kim's done an incredible job to get the wins he has out of this roster. Seeing them in gtown without hopkins (was at the butler home game as well) was eye opening. That said, i do think there's been some head scratching decisions. he seems to coach like we have an nba roster (shoot if and when you're open). we were up early last night and ticket (i think) took a pull up three basically as he crossed halfcourt. realizing that beating uconn was a longshot, our only chance was to run offense and reduce the number of possessions unless we were able to score off a turnover. the last few games started with too many threes right out of the gate.

His first year was after Covid. So I’m guessing he’s done. He’s had 4 regular seasons with Creighton.

We have 2 players who would have stepped on the floor last night for UCONN, or Marquette or Creighton. 2.
I am not even sure we have anyone other than Carter or Oduro that would see minutes for Seton Hall or St. John’s.
I am glad Kim sees this. Now he has to ensure next year is different. Because as of now, assuming Hopkins does come back, we have 1.

On Hurley - We have no idea what our fans were yelling at him all game. I'm really sick of the "PC is holier than thou." We throw beers and dildos on the court.
On Hurley - He was very gracious in the handshake line and in the post-game. Don't think for a minute that DC/JO/TG/BH didn't appreciate his thoughts.
On English, were there inexperienced moments? Yes. For anyone questioning the hire after this season with this roster, you are nuts. For anyone saying two seasons with no NCAA is on the hot seat at PC, send me what you are smoking. I saw a chart showing that we were one of the best teams in the nation at getting good shots and one of the worst at making those shots. We were one of the best defensive teams in the nation pre-BHop injury. After that injury, we played significant minutes with Ticket Effing Gaines at Center because Castro can't catch a ball.
On Next Year - I believe that KE is optimistic on the future because he knows that even with the losses, BH/JF/AB and possibly DS and ED with weight and strength are better than CFJ/Castro/Playing everyone too many minutes and that's before the portal and incoming recruits.

It was Carter who launched that shot. As soon as he took it I said we are toast. Agree on some head scratching decisions. We were seeing head scratching decisions from Cooley for 10 years in a row. Give English a chance to get HIS players and then we can make a determination on his coaching.

In his post-game comments, Kim referenced the immaturity and quick shots when we had that early lead...after a quick and long jumper by Ticket, the Fox broadcast clearly caught Kim's frustration with the shot selection. Overall, I agree with your comments.

I, for one, am not saying that "PC is holier than thou". But last night Hurley displayed horrible sportsmanship and coaching savvy in keeping his starters in until under two minutes while leading by 26. YOU SHOULDN'T DO THAT AS A COACH ON ANY LEVEL. The floor was in its usual slippery condition, you're on the road, and just after his big speech about sportsmanship following the Marquette game when he blasted Cam Spencer for trash-talking the Marquette bench late in their game this week, old Danny boy shows HIS lack of class. And then, telling PC season ticket holders after the game that we kissed his azz tonight, he proved he's a little man and with absolutely no class. And themick, where are you getting offing calling Gaines "Ticket Effing Gaines". That's a real classy statement from an alleged PC fan. That's right, ALLEGED! PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Thump,
You are old as dirt, so I'm not surprised you misinterpreted my comments. I was complimenting Ticket and it's a travesty that he had to play so many minutes out of position.
I hate it when losing teams in CONFERENCE GAMES complain when opposing starters are kept in. Play better or shut the eff up.
Why didn't KE put the walkons in? Hurley did...
