1. English has done a fine job (not sure where FFI hears these 'worst coach' attacks, I sure don't hear them.) 2. Lack of a legit BE level PG has hurt this team as much as the loss of Hop, hard as that may be to comprehend. 3. Floyd and Garwey are total mystery's. Neither are upper division BE players and that's hard to process. The parts lie. The sum tells the truth. 4. Castro would be a <10-minute bench player at lower D1 schools, never mind the BE. 5. Carter and Oduro are the best 1-2 combo at PC since _______? Ask Brad where he ranks English against other BE coaches. He made it clear the other day English is near the bottom of the list. That's your reply? One man does not an army make, especially one that is a ready, shoot, aim commenter on English. And frankly, where he ranks as a HC in this stacked league ten minutes into his career here at age 34 means zip to me, A) it's unquantifiable and B) it matters far less than getting good players Moving on......

We really can’t mend fences with the other board and get you guys over there? What board? The Richard Coren Board. I'm pretty sure that's its name.

Yes, Kim English is the 10th best coach in the Big East and if DePaul actually gets Moser, he’s 11th for next season. I don’t see an argument against it when we are comparing him to guys like Holloway and Cooley, it’s not close That's quite a strong opinion. I don't think you'll find a lot of people lining up to agree with you, but you're certainly entitled to your opinion. Tyler Owens at the NFL combine said "I don't believe in space," Owens said Thursday. "I don't think there's, like, other planets and stuff like that." Not a lot of people lining up behind him either. How anyone can actually watch our offense and think Kim is doing a good job is beyond me. Devin Carter hero ball couldn’t even save us from extended droughts against Georgetown’s defense…

If Carter doesn’t play hero ball, we are probably 4-13 in those 17 games.

You have become one of the worst posters here in my personal opinion.

We lost a first team BE player (pre-season) and outside of Gaines, Oduro and Carter, our remaining 5 players had 6 years of D1 experience going into this year. English has done a solid job in my opinion. We were picked 7th preseason WITH HOPKINS and will do at least that without Bryce. Where is all this disdain coming from? PIZZA,SODA,GRINDERS!!!

Yes that’s my reply and he just said it again above. And I never said an army I some on here. Don’t put words in my mouth. And also I never said worst just that some put him near the bottom. However, Brad had now gone full blown saying English is the worst coach in the league.

Also 1st year with a new coach and new system for those 2 players. 3rd different coach for Floyd. Floyd played 9mpg last year after sitting out his freshman year at UCONN. Castro played 7mpg after sitting his freshman year. Its not like these 2 were playing 20mpg as redshirt freshman last year. ....gotta love friartown...

I think when you are judging a coach, you have to see the roster the coach has. Think back to Dan Hurley and his URI teams against Ed Cooley and Providence. Ed and PC owned URI during the Hurley days winning 5 of the 6 games played each December. Yet Hurley goes to UConn and wins a National Title. So is Cooley or Hurley a better coach? I would conclude that the players are much more important than the school. I would say Kim English, in one year at Providence, with a patchwork roster and missing one of the best players in the BE, has had a very good year for a BE coach.

Lots of things I'd have done differently from my arm chair over the course of the season, but there's no doubt Coach English has done well with this group overall. Beat UConn and Friars finish the regular season with the record most on here predicted before the season started.
