I remember back in 2010 and 2011 and 2012 when Cooley began the rebuild and we had very few good players...and actually not too many players good or bad. Towit the Iron 6. Man he was refreshing fighting tooth and nail for every call and every edge. His post game pressers were unfiltered and graced with praise, acid tongued criticism, surly demeanor, confidence, determination and genuine pain if we lost.
Big Ed tweeted the following today:
”I want to wish all of the Men’s and Women’s College Basketball teams around the country good luck and good health during the 2019-2020 season! I especially want to wish good luck to all of our @bigeast teammates this season! Excited for the year to start!”

#Providence HC @coachcooleypc on whether or not these guys will play with a chip on their shoulder this year:
"I'm going to let our guys know that they're the first team in six years not to make the NCAA Tournament, and let them figure it out."

That's fine, except for the fact that I pinned a couple losses on Ed's late game decisions last year. Hopefully both the players and staff have it "figured it out", as we have the makings of a nice season if all cylinders are firing in order.
(I've always felt that so long as players keep a game close up to the 3-4 minute mark, a great in-game coach can provide what direction is needed to lock up the win)

Play with a chip on our shoulder...hope so. Hope the kids didn't read ed blowing kisses to all the other BE coaches aka our teammates. Did Knute Rockne do that? Did Vince Lombardi do that? Did Red Auerbach do that? Did the great Fr. Flanagan aka Jim Calhoun do that? Here's who did that en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifestyles_of_the_Rich_and_FamousTake The 2nd Weekend Pledge

B/c it was his worst season in several and he supposedly already had his LT contract. He was already at 2.5M+. Michigan wasn't hiring him. Not to mention the panam games ( which I think was crap but he supposedly lobbied hard) and timing. Several said pass and our guy didn't after a year that was crap to turn the screws to us.
When he gets to the second weekend this year, he'll be legit pursued and we'll find out the real deal.

I am reinstating The Pledge 2nd Weekend Of Tourney No Excuses No Mulligan I am with Dex....the honeymoon is over I too would like an extension until the 2nd weekend. But I remind myself of the times in past years when we were twiddling our thumbs during March play. So I guess you could put me in the camp of "hopeful but not to the point where I kick the Friars out of the big bed if their Dancin' is cut short". PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

I am reinstating The Pledge 2nd Weekend Of Tourney No Excuses No Mulligan In order to oblige this pledge, am I correct in saying that the Friars would need to either knock off the #1 seed or the #2 seed in their bracket (presuming each of those win their opening games). I ask because advancing to the second weekend sounded much more reasonable and probable until I put it in such terms.

If we are a 7-10 seed, we would play a 1 or a 2 in second round. That’s not unrealistic, one top 25 team will be a 7 seed for perspective.
