The knock on their AD is that the creep won't play anyone good for some inexplicable reason.
Sooo...screw'em
ps didn't they get caught cheating a little after their ncaa performance at The Dunk a few years back? My memory fails me but they need to learn the lesson that Cheating Nose-Picker fraud Boeheim learned about scheduling a few years back

Supposedly turned down several home and homes...eff them Yeah, Gary Parrish said they turned down equal deals with URI and Creighton. URI even offered to start it in Cali. Nevada took the URI game after St. Mary's declined.

Nevada took the URI game after St. Mary's declined. They got exactly what they deserve then. It doesn't get any better than a home and home with teams of that caliber. Are they expecting Arizona or Duke to come and play them at their place without a return trip or something?

It gets worse. Apparently St. Mary's hosted Nevada last year as part of a home and home. This year they opted to pay the buyout instead of returning the game. Baffling. Why would a kid even want to go play there?

Why would a kid even want to go play there? I just listened to Parrish also. He mentioned they could have played Grand Canyon too at home. GCU was a solid team that lost in their conference final.Word is they turned down a game at New Mexico too. So they could have had Creighton, URI, Nevada, New Mexico, and GCU this season. The committee knew they had chances to schedule quality games and they turned them down.

St. Mary's home games are played on campus at the McKeon Pavilion, capacity 3,500...

They replaced GCU and Nevada with San Jose State and Sacramento State. Had they kept them, they would have had an additional Quad 1 and Quad 2 win, and their RPI would have been 28.
I have much more sympathy for Middle Tennessee State, which at least played a decent non-conference schedule

Every year we have teams included or left out that the "media experts" snitch about. But I think it makes sense to do what NCAA Football does which is to put football people on the committee. "We have a tournament that makes the NCAA a billion dollars, with a “b.” Choosing the field and correctly seeding these teams is the most prominent decision the NCAA causes each year. This committee is making billion dollar decisions with non-basketball people in the room. How on Earth does that make sense?" * Winning at Duke and winning at Rider are equivalent Quadrant 1 win * Winning at Villanova is equivalent to winning at Utah Valley www.detroitsportsandentertainment.com/coaching-corner-the-ncaa-tournament-selection-process-is-a-joke/

The chair of the committee made it clear that the quadrant system was only for sorting purposes. He said that examine each team's resume in detail. While I would have put Oklahoma State in over Syracuse, there were close to a dozen teams that had similarly flawed resumes between the First Four and the top eight teams left out. I think they were closer this year than in the past, and also more flawed than in the past. Pick one of the omitted teams, and I can easily make a case why they weren't selected.
