Embarrassing Someone needs to take time with the NCAA, BIG EAST ...the two schools AD and tell us all the paying fans on what is wrong with this facility WHY would the NCAA want to come here in 2021 again... ?

The Dunk people met early this a.m. and decided to turn the air on then. Air was on all day.
Has to be a "covering the ice" problem.
PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

How much does PC pay the Dunk for each game??
Wonder if they (Dunk) will refund PC for this game.
Every other hoops/hockey arena can figure this out.

I was thinking why isn't this a problem for the Celtics. But 82 showed TD had the same issue in the past. I wonder if the capacity of the AC is why it happens in some arenas and not in others. 1971 said it didn't happen in Philly tonight. It was actually warmer in Philly than Prov. tonight but the humidity was higher in Providence.

Given the fiscal condition of the City, I question whether they would consider a refund.
That is, so long as the Dunk can demonstrate that they took reasonable measures to address the potential of an issue. If on the other hand, it can be proven that there was an omission on the Dunk's part (i.e.: laborers did not install the insulating layers between the ice and court properly), then I would guess that PC would have grounds for demanding a credit. Nothing that the Dunk won't get back the next time Bob Driscoll has to negotiate a deal with the City/Facility.
Unfortunately, we have little to no leverage.

Dunk is owned by the convention center authority not the city

Rent is $50 k per game, no concession money, no parking money plus PC pays for security. Currently no long term contract because Dunk won't fix or upgrade anything. We have no optional place to play and CCA apparantly don't care. Providence Bruins draw like 6 or 8 k per game

This can't help next time they bid for an opening round of the NCAA's - when it will most likely be just as warm.....

They already have it for next 2020 .... NCAA could tell them to get rid of the ice for that week...

what a trucking joke we look like a major D-1 program without a floor!!! so whats the plan PC?? Hope it doesn't go over 45 degrees never again??? How about get the Bruins out of the building?? what do they sell 2,000 tickets a game?? (why can't they play in Schneider??) Tell you one thing this is VERY bad for recruiting.......my kid don't play hoops but if he was a big time recruit he wouldn't be on that floor that's for sure don't be shocked if one of our 2018 recruits asks out from LOI in next week or so I bought two ticks on stubhub and don't expect to pay for the next game The Bruins are the primary tenant they would kick PC out before they did the Bruins

Imagine
If we had a issue like what happened @ Pauley Pavilion some three years ago Flood out the entire gym
Convention center authority needs to address the entire facility From restrooms to concession stands to gym floor

Providence Bruins draw like 6 or 8 k per gameKmac said different in today’s projo. BcJoe was right with his numbers. The number is closer to 35k not 50K “ PC pays a rental fee of roughly $35,000 to play 18 games a season at the Dunk. .
