Conn, Dreadful? An easy win tonight as it should have been vs SHU. Have to give SHU credit for getting within 10 with a few minutes remaining. You didn't think Jackson and Young showed something tonight? MAL some nice assists. Easy threes to open the game. Rodney scored at will even as he took easy open shots that missed.
Though there will be a paucity of Big East wins this season. That's what counts... Coach Cooley saying KC and AD back for SJU game.
Though SJU will run these hobbled Friar's out of the Carnescecca Gym . Knowing that, knowing this will be a lost Big East season, look for things to build on for the future.

SHU had loads of open looks that they didn’t knock down...and they scored just under 50 points in the second half...our seniors play poor defense and seem to only show energy after a made hoop...

Connfriar, Indeed.
But they really had no need to expend excess energy against SHU.
I saw Jackson expending good energy tonight. Held my breath when he hit the floor hard under the basket.
Seniors were not horrible tonight.
I am not going to drive myself crazy with the impending lBig East losses I foresee with these guys

I'll take a semi easy win at this point but SHU had a lay up line in the second half. The lack of focus with this group is alarming. On the plus side thought Jackson had a good all around game and Young and Edwards were active. Rodney was playing a fairly efficient game- a lot of lane touches in second half- until late in second half when he took consecutive bad shots which helped SHU shrink the lead. MAL still looks lost to me. Shows very little confidence on the offensive end and his man continually beats him on the other end.

MAL had a better game tonight than vs Houston.
He'll have "sophomore " experience by mid Big East play.
As so many seem to have soured on these seniors, why not look ahead a season or two.
Better yet, cheer for 'Nova this year.
I haven't given up on these Friars. Expect a disappointing season though.
Coach Cooley still hoping for a postseason from his post game interview.
Not the season we anticipated, so let's change our expectations and enjoy as the team gels as it grows from this adversity.

I keep trying to puzzle-out why people expect a Friar team playing without Holt, Cartwright, Diallo and White to be anything different than what we’re seeing right now. It’s odd to me, it really is.

I agree Rock...what the heck is the matter with these seasoned basketball fans here anyways?
Perhaps because it was Sacred Heart? The guy behind me asked if it was a seminary.
Meanwhile nobody had higher expectations for the team than Big Ed Wednesday at Mohegan...it was the vintage Cooley of the first years of his reign.
Man he was yanking guys if they even scratched their nuts....and barking at them all the way back to the bench. I must be getting soft bec it felt uncomfortable.
The only kid he had some empathy for was Alpha who was sent out there on a single leg.

I agree Rock. Unrealistic. I still have not given up on the season, however.Get KC,Alpha and White back and we will hopefully see the team that crushed UCONN at Mohegan ,looked strong at MSG and beat BC [yes---the Eagles who beat Duke ].
