ZAG Tommy Amaker, Patrick Ewing, Danny Hurley expected to be in mix at Georgetown Another instance of ultra-lazy Zags reading Twitter before he chimes in...he's weak....

I wonder if he was allowed to resign but wouldn't? Anybody know what kind of money is left on his deal? Restless fans take a while to remove a coach...but when the players get restless it's usually pretty quick. If the buyout is based on "P x Q", then The "P" = roughly $3.6M/year The "Q"= number of years remaining on Contract

Goodman has shared a question that's apparently been expressed by more than one individual in the industry...
What formal-direct or informal-indirect influence will John Thompson Jr have on the Gtown Program going forward? His long shadow might be enough to turn away potential coaching candidates.
Is Thompson Jr willing to gracefully step back and be nothing more than a fan, or might his continued involvement with prior players, alums and other influencers intentionally / non-intentionally taint the waters?

He looks quite diminished sitting in the stands. How much involvement in the program is he capable of having. Perhaps the Georgetown program is his passion still.

Sadly, there will be no more JTII Chris Mullin passions, coupled with Patrick Ewing Jr. chirping back to Chris, on the floor of MSG.

A lot of movement going to happen Willard to Georgetown Hurley leaves Rhody for his dream job t Seton Hall and his father wants him to get there too. Seton Hall A D. Pat Lyons from RI would do that deal too

Obviously they didn't interview the Walk
I think Walk's list is much more credible if they can shake one loose.
Can any of you guess what exactly is the "input" Thompson will give?
He's nothing but a trouble-maker and be sure that every candidate will have to be assured that JT keep his distance
and not interfere. It won't be made public but the Georgetown administration is fine with that and all they want to do is get past
the introductory presser and that big miserable pantload will be OUT.

Time to move forward at Georgetown and make as much of a clean break while still respecting Big John's special place - NOT easy to do but it is a must...
Any coach coming on deserves that and you can be sure it will be discussed - it has to be as he remains, even at 75, the elephant in the room.
Not mentioned is the desire/need for the Big East to have a strong Hoya team.

Anyone hear Cooley on ESPN radio today? My friend (not affiliated with PC) said he was asked about Georgetown job. Sort of joked about having to focus on getting players on his team and getting into tournament next year because he's not ready to get into radio like them. But said he believes in talking to people if the phone rings because communication is good.
