Kills me that we might be behind Marquette. Swept them and have a better RPI (currently) and SOS. Effing BC and DePaul.

Not changing anything..who knows. Marq picks this up and wake holds on, I think were back on the other side. Back on what other side Assume he means the bad side.

So we went from 114 of 123 brackets and 10.6 to out because a few other competitors won? And how is MQ ahead of us? We swept them, have a better RPI and will be higher ranked in conference, all assuming we win sat Of course, They have a worse OOC sos and overall sos.

Assume he means the bad side. Like where Carolanne went when she talked to the "tv people"?

According to bracket matrix, we entered today ahead of 5 teams in the tourney. The first four out teams (URI, wake, Illinois and K state) all won. Marquette was just behind us, they won. USC and Northwestern were just ahead of us, they won. It's hard to underscore how much tonight's results hurt us.
If there is any silver lining, Marquette moved up to 58 in the RPI. If they do crack the top 50, that'd boost our top 50 wins by two.
Also, Xavier, Michigan, Michigan St, Arkansas and VCU all lost. All were at least a few spots ahead of us, and only Xavier's loss was particularly hurtful. But if any of them lose their finale and go out early in the conference tourney, we could potentially jump some of these teams with at least two more wins.

Until we lose those behind us are still out, unless they go in deeper runs in their tournies. At least I hope. But i agree tonight was not a good night.

Not a good night for URI. Those teams behind them probably jump them now, plus Lasalle lost to St Louis. We want them to keep winning until they choke in the A10.
I'm coming around to Yanks idea that Marquette winning tonight wasn't a bad thing. Tough to see Creighton winning at Marq for senior day, so we likely get the 3 seed if we beat SJ...AND likely get SHU as the 6 since I don't think they win at Butler. I will take SHU in the 3/6 game ALL DAY.
X is in trouble...No one will be surprised if Depaul beats them. Billy Garrett senior day too. Kids been around too long for them to not win that game on his senior day. X is just bad right now.

I looked at URI, although their RPI is better, shockingly, they really fattened up on teams in the 101-200 level. They have two top 50 wins. We have 6. They have 4 top 100 wins we have 10........Difference between Big East and mid major. Difference between tourney team and NIT team. Again all predicated on us winning sat.

It could also be the difference in one of the two of us being bounced if a hard decision must be made....That said I just have a real hard time seeing the committee leaving out a 10-8 3rd place Big East team. Then again they take their orders from the ACC so...

BTW, to further the Xavier enigma, they have 2.........yes 2 top 50 wins. 2!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!And this was being touted on tv as something to proud of (tv said 3, live RPI says 2).
We have 6, possibly 8 depending on how Marquette finishes. Someone explain to me why Xavier has such a high RPI? It's mainly because they started ranked in the top 10 before falling on their faces.

Without looking, I'd guess X has a strong SOS keeping their RPI strong?

So are we in the last 4 byes category with Lunardi? No clue how X can be put in right now. They look awful.

I expect a close game with DePaul...also, it's not as if Xavier has been in nail biters during this losing streak...
