Not that anyone cares, but this is the last time that I'm going to be opening up this string to read anything more on the Chukwu front. I'm moving on from this I agree 82. Time to focus on what we have on the roster today and what this excellent staff will add.

'71 and '82 won't see this tweet by Gottlieb but what the hell.....Chukwu is a Chooch...stronger language may be coming...sorry Thump, there's a right way of doing something and a wrong way

If you can’t play 30 minutes at PC, you sure as heck aint getting 20 at #KUBB or #MichiganState

He clearly did things the wrong way. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Why are so many players bailing from VCU. Certainly Smart let them know early on he would be leaving when an offer came along. I assume Simon told Chukwu in advance he was looking for a better opportunity. Coaches bail on these kids all the time. In most cases it is for a better opportunity and they should be looking to better their position. But you want a kid to tip his hand in advance when he leaves so the coaches can adjust??? Unfortunately the culture of coaches and players switching schools is rampant.

So we're loving douggie now? Let's remember this when he's killing the BE next year. And if we see pascal as a first round pick at pc (most think lottery - he was compared to lew Alcindor on this board), why wouldn't he be the same at Kansas? Has self produced any first round picks?
Dex - does it stink like rotten fish or is the kid a chooch? What is the right way if you haven't decided until May? Thump said fu fortune when he left...how is this any different?
We should know better than most....espect nothing from your year end 4/1 roster to your projected 11/1 roster. A kid from Fairfield prep doesn't like the pc environment?..keeps a secret from the entire world?....maddening...baffling...

In honor of this thread and our string of recruiting misses, I'm officially going back to my head-banger avatar.

Walk,
With all due respect... I said he reminded me of a young Lew Alcindor... I wrote something like "dare I say it, he reminds me of our very own Lew Alcindor". The comparison is not a stretch as I doubt you know what a young Lew Alcindor looked like or how he played at Power Memorial HS.
He's gone... he sees himself at Kansas, UVA, Nebraska, or Michigan State. Gottlieb is correct:
If he is unhappy as he is a fish out of water at 7' 2" at PC, he will be as conspicuous at any other school. I would think Fairfield Prep, at the gates of Fairfield University, has a similar student population as Fairfield U and PC. So who knows what really is the cause of his unhappiness.

Maybe he has an ailment and is looking for a special nurse to cure it.

The comparison is not a stretch as I doubt you know what a young Lew Alcindor looked like or how he played at Power Memorial HS.....how'd it work out for him against morgan wooten? Alcindor could probably get 20mpg at Kansas as a HS soph...never mind a college soph.
The guy is all world if he stays at PC but can't get 50% of the center minutes elsewhere? We constantly point to the lack of respect given to PC during the weekly polls when compared to the big boys....now our projected 30+ mpg game center as a soph won't get major PT at one of these programs two years from now? So lottery pick if he stays at PC...bench warmer if he goes elsewhere. Can't have it both ways. If he turns out to be what we thought of him May 1st, he will be the starting center for almost anywhere he decides as a junior.

Maybe he has an ailment and is looking for a special nurse to cure it. I'm pretty sure PC has a few of those "nurses" walking around too. But seriously Gottlieb is right. Maybe the year off will help him but at all of those schools other than Nebraska he could easily be recruited over. Nebraska really? There is literally nothing there and you want that for your college experience! ok

Taking an unofficial visit to Iona. I know it won't happen but it would be pretty funny if he moved on to Iona.

Recruited over at those schools but not pc? If he's the player we think he is, he'll be playing a ton....if not, he probably would have played more at pc but come up short on our expectations after. I see this kid as a top 15 pick in two years.....those kids can play a lot anywhere not named kentucky...
How do you figure info?...second year in a row were caught clueless at the one position we don't have a second option....
