IMHO, Sham logically moves into Mike Jackson's spot. However, I also want Jackson on staff, he has paid his dues. Trouble is, I also want an ace recruiter on staff...enter Jeff Battle. I've run out of chairs in the musical chairs... Info. I agree w your logic and maybe there is a way to add Sham as an extra. But I am a little concerned that EC said he wanted to take time and find the best fit. I would think if Battle is in play and is available since he is not on a staff, he would have made that move already.

At very least Cooley is going to do his due diligence or if it is Battle make sure he gives that appearance.

Makes sense...natch we are all speculating so I will too. Ed needs a rock solid recruiting guy who has the fire in the belly, energy and emotional make-up to succeed. It's possible that Ed thinks Battle isn't in that place yet because of his recent problems. Also possible that Battle isn't ready to re-locate now or ever. Maybe Ed owes it to himself and his family to see if "the right fit" or a better fit is out there as opposed to promoting within or Battle. Why you ask? Glad you did.
Ed is working too hard and that was the case even with Simon who he was comfortable with in all facets of coaching. Chercher la femme. It has been my experience that sometimes one's wife DOES see the forest for the trees. Nobody has a more vested interest than Mrs Cooley to see to it that her husband surrounds himself with hard working intelligent people to help carry the load. Sure she likes winning and success too...but not at the expense of her husband's health and happiness.
Appears to me that Ed was jolted by losing his 9 year buddy who worked so well with him. Let him get his bearings and figure this out. The good news is that unless we brizz, we only have one ship to fill. The most important thing right now is to get our incoming frosh all squared away and help all the players have a productive Summer AFTER success in their exams.

I think I found a spot for Sham....
Didn't know until now that URI has an Asst. Director of Basketball Operations. (Steve Enright)
Mike Jackson does not have an assistant.

I think that God has enough potential to warrant a slot as a recruiter on Cooley's coaching staff. The are others on Cooley's staff with experience, but there aren't many with God's street credibility. All he needs is an opportunity IMO. I'm sure he's hungry too...
I look at Cooley and God and Jackson and see an unstoppable force on the recruiting trail with tremendous upside. I would like to see Cooley promote from within, but ultimately, I think many can be successful in this recruiting role working for Cooley.

It'd be tough to go with two new recruiters....

Time for FiFi to earn his keep or else
Cartwright was a freak thing bec Max got canned and the only other one was the big kid that the bats attacked who Seth brizzed
Dexter's clock is saying Tick Tock Tick Tock
Anyone who has been to alumni hall and watched or talked to some players know how valuable Simon was to Cooley.
This is a big decision for Ed and he needs to get it right
