I think 10 w's is the magic number but I would like to win one at the BET to avoid a stay at The Very Nervous Hospital

that's 10Ws...no... yes...we'd be in... 20-11 equals 8-9 game... 21-10 equals 6 or 7 seed We're in with 19 wins but we probably end up in Dayton on Tuesday play ins.

would not be a fun sunday under scenario #3 and I could see us getting left out...though some teams with worse rpis would be in....

Ok 7 to go and need 3 wins
7 less 2 Nova losses = 5 games in play (Nova figures to be solid favorites both games, no?)
so we need to win 3 of 5 .600 ball
at Home Marquette, SHU and highly ranked Butler Bulldogs
Away Depaul, SHU
Thoughts?
Mine is we won't win on the road again...will beat Marquette and SHU at home with the season on the line vs Butler

Short term analysis is needed here - thanks dex - nice breakdown.
WHO KNOWS?
My take is the only thing we can count on is that we can count on nothing...meaning whatever scenarios we paint will probably not happen in this crazy league.
Thinking we can win on the road and will probably have to grab one; AND we sure can also lose at home...( *
NOVA Wednesday, (sell out?) shaping up as a quality chance for PC to bounce back.
Remember it is an 8 pm start for some reason...

I think we win at DePaul and split with Seton Hall. That will be enough, but probably means a trip to Dayton.
My gut says 9-9 and first round loss - play in game 10-8 and first round loss - 9/10 seed 11-7 and first round loss- 7/8 seed
Bump up a number if we are in the BET semis.
Much better BE this year is going to carry a lot of teams into tourney. SH, SJU, Gtown, X and PC fighting for 4 spots but all teams could get there.

SHU is not playing well at the moment-could be two Ws. Who knows with this team? "Should" beat DePaul at their place. No game is a gimme.

Dex, No, SJU isn't dead yet at all. They can play their way back in.
I think DP and SH at home are the games we have best chance to win. I think SH on road and MQ at home are toss ups. I think Butler and Nova games will be very tough. Butler is playing at a very high level right now. My gut tells me we finish 3-4, which will be more than good enough. I think 2-5 is probably worst case scenario, and 5-2 is probably best case.

Marquette beat SHU without the concussed Carlino which is remarkable to me
It's unfatomable to me that we lose to Marquette at home if everyone is available on our team
and Bob you are correct that SHU is vulnerable right now but in two weeks who knows after a look at us on Valentine's Day....but I would rather take my chances of containing Gibbs and beating the Pirates than going at Depaul and take my chances containing Garrett, Hamilton, Crockett et al....the play loose like they don't give a sh!t because they aren't contending for anything except Most Improved Team.
Who can ever forget the matinee game wherein they scored 49 pts or so in the 2nd half whilst wtm was checking Dunn's triple double incessantly adding to my total frustration at the time.
The coaches are all starting to figure out how to beat the other team by this time ie Even Mack going zone to win it
It's now a question of execution on a given day

I think MQ has a lot of good pieces....they have lost a ton of close games. They have very good guard play, and they are improving...just don't see that game as an easy win.

assuming whitehead and carlino are back, all remaining opponents have multiple guards who can hurt you....only us winning at nova would surprise me the rest of the way...

I think they'll get 3 more W's before the BET:
SHU/MU/@dep: 2W- 1L Best chance
BU/@shu/VU: 1W- 2L Less chance
@vu: 0W- 1L Don't think so
