I like our resume......we're not ranked for two reasons.....1) brown 2) we've looked like crap in our recent wins.....
...if selection Sunday was today it wouldn't matter....but it does explain the reason.....

Agree. The Top 25 is about opinion. They can look at our wins, where we looked sloppy but won, and form an opinion that we are not Top 25. The meltdown vs. Xavier didn't help get us votes even though we won. Selection Sunday is more statistic based. What's your record, what's your RPI, SOS, who did you beat, who did you lose to?

How did Georgetown look to you last night in losing at home to Xavier !!!! ? Winning---whether pretty or ugly---is what counts at the end of the day. Obviously, PC is far from a lock for the Big Dance.But---as we sit here today,I like where the Friars are. They have to take care of business to get to where we want them to be.We shall see what happens. However, unlike last year---where the RPI was never close to where it is now---we are looking good objectively right now.

are we speaking the same language?...I'm simply stating why we are not ranked right now...and I don't have a problem with it...once again...if we win tomorrow and get two of those three roadies, we will be ranked...
Last week Georgetown waxed villanova and won at Marq Saturday afternoon....that is why they were ranked.

I get why G'town was ranked. I feel like we should have been ranked ahead of Butler. Like you said its all for nought if we don't step it up entering this next stretch. This will make or break our season I think.

Buter's worst loss is at Tenny.....after that Indiana (top 40)....and they also beat Carolina...

We're not ranked because the AP is full of regional reporters. KMAC has no clue if Colorado St should be ranked so the beat writer in Denver should have no clue if we should be. It has very little to do with how we looked in beating X or anyone else. All of the local guys have us in. All of the non local guys have others in instead of us.

All of the local guys have us in. All of the non local guys have others in instead of us....explains the guy from Oregon having gtown and butler new to his rankings this week....he's the only one I looked at...
...jerry carino...have no idea who he is...he's from NJ and covers the BE....last 2 in...Oklahoma and Georgia...

I am not at all upset that PC is not in the Top 25 right now in the major "beauty contest" polls.Give the top 20 RPI over top 25 ranking in January any day of the week.

Both of those schools are national programs with reputations. Providence is not. That's why I used Colorado St. as an example. East coast guys know that San Diego St and Gonzaga are big time programs just like West Coast guys know that about Butler and Georgetown.
Also, the closest top 25 ranking is the espn power rankings. 26th on that one

I love reading friara and thewalk's swordsmanship as they debate and dig in over the most insignificant subjects imagineable from time to time. Impressive quich factual research by both is admirable makes me wonder if some posters have some calabrese roots

We need to be 7-5 after the Nova game to stay on the safe side of Bracketology. 8-4 and we're playing the rest of the slate for a 7 seed or better.
SJU could be in trouble if Harrison is hurt. They have no depth with him never mind without him.
