Yes, I have many...most stemming from the "PC as a stepping stone" program littering successful coaches across the landscape. In Cooley we have someone who is unique given his past as a native son. Yesterday at Mohegan Sun I was chatting it up and a Casino manager type poked his way into the blather bringing up exactly what you are asking infoman, he saying with a raised eyebrow of skepticism, "So you guys actually think this coach is going to bring back the glory days - like when you had Marvin Barnes?
I paused and then firmly (and quite seriously) responded, "Yes, Ed Cooley will be bringing a National Championship to Providence College sooner than later."
End of conversation as everyone sort of slinked away with me thinking...If you don't think so - go talk to Ed because he will tell you much the same...

I mean if you look at it from Ed's viewpoint, and he instills this in his players, they believe they can and will win the NC. If not, what the hell's the point right? In risk of alienating some here with this example, look at what UCONN did last year, they didn't have a roster full of 5 stars and McD's AAs like Kentucky. Yet they overachieved, played as a team and got hot at the right time (and beat a roster full of AAs in Kentucky). Hell look at Butler 2 years in a row! PC can do that too.
I realize right now it seems ridiculous to suggest that, but the building blocks are unfolding before us. When Ed took over I'd imagine the goals for the program looked something like this:
stop being embarrassing
start winning recruiting battles
start winning games
win the BET at a packed MSG
make the NCAA for the first time in a decade
win an early season tourney for the first time in forever
enter the rankings for the first time in a decade
I sense a pattern here. There are 351 + - Men's teams in 32 divisions competing in D1. Even being ranked and making the tourney is a hard task. It is an accomplishment. Obviously goals for now need to be to continue to bring in top talent, to be among the top year in and year out in BE conference, and trying to consistently make NCAAs. This is no small task. I think Ed will achieve all of that. The goals after that? Make deep runs and go for the NC. Why not?

Craig Belhumeur @craig_Belhumeur 11h11 hours ago If Henton keeps up the 23.4 PPG, by regular season's end, he would be just 24 points shy of breaking PC's all-time scoring record #pcbb
