If this is just coming out now, sounds like nobody wanted to make the call ( probably due to Oregon case) so they passed it to the grand jury....who's passing this on to the wsj and espn....

"competent district attorney can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich."
Well if the AG's office decided to let a GJ hear this stuff and didn't get an indictment you have to conclude that the female was a terrible witness for herself. If that's the case I'm a little surprised it got this far?
It isn't over yet. She could still sue --pointless-- the individuals, she could still sue PC for violating her rights under Title 9.

Agree the Oregon redux situation with that gadfly charmer Austin most likely affected the handling of this mess. Rodney Bullock who has kept a very low profile and his mouth shut throughout this extended period of uncertainty can now move forward and play D1 basketball as an improbable red shirt. Expect PC fans will recognize this and give the kid the chance to resume his position as a member of the Friar team. The upcoming trip to Italy may help this transition... * Here is some "legal" information on just what a Grand Jury is and what they typically will do...it is my understanding that members of the Grand Jury can and often do directly question any and all participants, including witnesses... criminal.lawyers.com/criminal-law-basics/what-are-criminal-indictments.html

I would think that this puts an end to this unless some new evidence comes to light which doesn't seem likely 9 months after the fact.

That's interesting and something I've thought about. I'm assuming Hutch isn't a private JC. May be funded by Ks taxpayers? The school could be sued under Title 9 for simply having him on campus. He wouldn't even have to do anything. It would be an opportunistic suit to be sure but it could happen. I doubt Hutch is dropping him for the bad pub. They could live with that.

..what difference does public or private make?....sued under title ix?...for what?....the kid has never been charged with anything.
..now i assume there's an admissions process that the school follows which allows them to admit whomever they'd like....

So I'm wondering....
Had Austin followed Cooley's advice and stayed at PC ...he would never picked up a second strike in Oregon...
Now, suppose he maintained a clean record over the second semester at PC... in the wake of the Grand Jury's decision (essentially erasing that first strike)... I suspect he'd be suited up and playing for the Friars at start upcoming season. Right?
Instead, he's now faced with the dilemma of finding a 3rd school that's willing to take a chance on him. He may be a talent on the court, but his path to even a JUCO roster appears to be strained.
So much for the "fresh start" that he was looking for when he bolted in January.
Lesson Learned: You don't run from problems/challengs, you face/address them head on.
Kudos to Rajay.

Yup-listened to all of the wrong people. The kid has a problem though and I'm glad he is off the PC campus.

We should all be thankful he's done at pc....expecting him not to get in trouble is a big ask 82... Nothing to do with running from your problems...the kids a punk...and despite the grand jury passing on the case, put me in the disappointed camp that Cooley went to bat so hard for year 1 eligibility....

No charges but he has been suspended from one school for a year and then kicked out of another. Title IX suits don't need legal charges. Women could sue saying his presence on campus makes them feel unsafe or something like that. PS St. John's tried to secretly bring Dominic Artis to campus for a visit. Word got out that Artis visited and SJU fans were not happy with Lavin for kicking those tires.
