Cooley went to bat for Austin and it he does not look good for doing so, but he believed his players. The fact is right after the initial ruling was overturned, Austin had his contacts in Philly calling other programs, sending out messages, feeling out the situation of possibly transferring. It happened so quickly from Dec 22, 2013, when we get word around 7 pm (done by PC post-news for the sake of missing the news cycle) and then on January 4, day of Frozen Fenway, Austin announces he is transferring. January 7, CBS Sports reports Austin has chosen Oregon. That is pretty quick to have a short list, visit, talk, and decide. I understand the need to make the decision for the sake of getting somewhere for a new semester. But considering that Oregon started earlier than others for 2nd semester, I was told this was in the works prior to that final ruling released on December 22. Austin is gone, PC is lucky in hindsight. PC admin is still not off the hook for me, because Bullock was dragged down with Austin. And we will be happy with Bullock playing here. He will help this team.

Name calling?... Intelligent posts?... Guess I should stick to the benchmark set by you in fortune transfer string.....brilliant stuff... thewalk, Reading comprehension must not be one of your strong suits. I don't think I called him names. When I said "screw Josh (for transferring)", I meant what I said. But "screw" is a verb. I did not engage in name-calling. I just said how many of us felt after he left us high and dry late in the transferring process. And that was after starting, playing major minutes and averaging double figures. Duh!!! PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

To say "if the incident at PC reads like the Oregon one" and then go on commenting as if it DID and not IF doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Unless and until the report of the PC incident is released, I would refrain from trying to compare the two incidents in their severity.

To say "if the incident at PC reads like the Oregon one" and then go on commenting as if it DID and not IF doesn't make a lot of sense to me....fair point lax....but at least one person pretty high up at PC wanted them out of the school....PLUS it was common knowledge that BA was a handful....so i'm hissed that cooley made the kids being kids comment...regardless of how the report reads....

Fair enough. But the person who wanted Austin gone wasn't as high up as the person he opted to reduce to a suspension.

As reported here and elsewhere, ironically former PC assistant Steve DeMeo is the head coach at Northwest Florida State College.
