Notes: A weaker than normal BE has the last game (Sat.) meaning conference tourney seeding for a home game in the first round. Friars could finish anywhere from 1st to 5th depending on final pt. totals and tie breakers. A Gtn loss (unlikely) combined with a Friar win or tie gives PC the #1 position. Because the BEWest team with the best rec. must get the #2 pos. in the BET, Friars are more likely to get 4th or poss 5th (on the road 1st.rd.)
There is no bye in BET for the best record so there really isn't a great advantage to winning the reg. season pt. total. It does help your RPI with the NCAA however. *PC transfer Back Austin Rome is playing regular big mins for UVa. *Center Back Jr. Cole Dewhurst had a very strong season after an inj riddled '22. *UConn lost by a couple of goals in Prov. but had the two best chances of the match. One a GK save point-blank and another clean breakout ending with a shot blasting off the left post. Important game, could have been different.
*PC now has large staff with an AC and Soccer Ops additions. *The five Portuguese newcomers have played well. Which was expected given their ages. *Stanford,SMU,Cal to the ACC may make the HC at BC look very vulnerable after a very rough season. *Lucas Almeida who was the HS Coaches asso. POY last year (and recruited hard by the Friars out of W.Hart) did not dress for UConn game v.PC. *Since the program has performed best with a large F presence near the net (Davis Smith,Mac Steeves)you would have to think they are talking to big guy gs Owen Bull (Trumb.,Ct). *UConn HC was loudly complaining on his post-game walk to Schneider Arena about getting a YC for mouthing off, when Friar coaches got nothing.

They lost today, shutout 1-0 which does serious damage to their RPI and NCAA chances but not to the BE seeding which the highest they were going to get was third anyway. Hosting Creighton next Sat. UCon could have greatly helped themselves with a home W in front of their big crowd but were blown out 4-0 by X.

Men's team plays Xavier at 4pm today in the Big East semifinals. Since the split this year into 2 divisions, these two teams did not meet in the regular season.
Game is streamed live on BEDN on FloSports, subscription required I belive.
A win will go a long way to getting into the NCAAs.
Hoyas remain the team to beat.

From the stats appeared Friars carried play in offensive end. Not seeing it can't determine if they had any good chances.

Picked up a goalie recruit for next season - Julian Ballester from Preston, CT - plays out of the Oakwood club.
