New game. FRIARS tie it in 47th minute or soon after start of second half
But then they cough it up in zone, save by GK but rebound goes off PC for own goal

The game should have been 3-0 at minimum. Hof' had several more good chances as well. So PC gets back in tie game unexpectedly and then gives up the third off a couple of bad situations.
Hofstra is a very good team and to get down a goal in the opening min's on a night where they did not look alert, makes you wonder about the attitude on this team. A couple of guys who I thought were starters did not play? We'll see what happens in a few days on the road.

Strange 2-1 W in kingston. Lineup had several omissions that I assume are inj's. One of the players who they are touting for all-BE-Garcia- hasn't played for the last two. A few guys saw their first action of the season, one the first of his career? All this in a close game the was scoreless for the 1st half and into the 2nd. Something was up. And since they don't announce inj's you can't find out. friars.com/sports/mens-soccer/stats/2023/university-of-rhode-island/boxscore/11295#individual-stats

Friars lose to UMass 3-2. PC actually tied it up after falling behind 2-0 - but then gave up the winning 3rd goal quickly after the Friars tied it up.

Tough day for PC soccer as women lose their first game 1-0 to Rutgers.
Is UMass a good team? Men are 1-2 @ home so far, not a recipe for a good season.

This was a copy of last week. Down a goal almost immediately, then another, then UMass hits a crossbar and it should have been 3. Team looked tired.
It's all about the BE now (off to Akron). Unless they improve (guys are not playing for what reason IDK?), it will be a down season.

Friars tie at #3 Akron 3-3. PC missed a golden opportunity here for a big win, had a 3-1 lead well into the 2nd half, then give up 2 goals (one was a penalty kick).

* A few notes: Last night continued trend of not scoring the game's first goal. This time they equalized against Brown late while out-shooting them pretty significantly so to only get a single goal is concerning. * I thought Brown was a good opportunity to try the Fr. Keeper M. Bayu in his first match but ...no. The GK from Milton Acad. has a cousin who is one of the top prep MF in New England that is as yet uncommitted.
* Darius Davis from Tolman HS has been turning up on some "watch lists". I don't know if this program is interested although they have one of Davis's teammates on the team in the Fr.class. Can't tell with 'HS' competition but good attitude.
* Luis Garcia a MF they tout as potential all-BE, hasn't played since the first home match. Afonso Serrano a Grad Stu , not at all. A few other guys who were in the starting lineup in the first two g's haven't played either.
* The next two BE games are at home against weaker ops. If they don't get wins you have to concerned about the staff's tactics.
* They have reportedly committed 17yo keeper for '24 from the Revs Jr. program. Since he's been like 12 Ryan Carney has been starting in most age-groups he's played with. Lives on the ma/nh border and likely was recruited by most programs, so like a few of the Revs that have committed over the years, I'm a bit skeptical he'll show up next year. If he comes I would think that may freak out Fr. Keeper Bayu?
* From the PC 'hood Jabril Bambgala is off to a quick start at West Point. If local should want to xf (whatever reason) they should offer immediately ... * Am i surprised what's going on at Bryant (7-0)? No, but their OOC schedule is pretty easy. Still no goals given up yet with their most important game of the year (UVm) this weekend. Blasted uri last night.
* True Fr. Brandon Marshall (NC) and Pearse O'Brien (Ct) seem to have settled in as big min's starters.

Another home loss in the rain last night They actually came back to take a 3-2 lead over Villanova in the second half - then gave it up. Not really sure what is going on so far this year - lineups, goalie, losing leads, etc.

This week picked up two more recruits for the 2024 group - Gabriel Chavez from the Revs (that makes 3 from that local program), and Christian Haikal from Worcester Academy.
