Not many schools can boast that they have the perfect coach for their program...

While reassuring, for now anyway, the nationwide perception of PC as a stepping stone persists and remains.
Understandable.
And when he arrives in Phoenix for the Final Four, the whispering and cajoling will continue even if poisitions are closing for this season of lane jumping.
The support/commitment of Stanley/Driscoll has been unprecedented yet nothing is forever in this business with very few exceptions and certainly not at PC when "power schools" can throw huge $$ and resources around.
Yes, the coming home and cultural aspects are very solid and important but someday that too could wear thin - Big Ed is a young man and a chance to say double or even triple his take will be there if his success and aura continue to shine.
Word heard has been that someday, and for the right fit, a shot at an NBA slot could be attractive to Cooley. Hopefully that day arrives AFTER he wins the National Championship.
It's a business and a highly competitive one where loyalty, much like ordinary "corporate" loyalty has been folding in the past 10-20 years.

Thanks for sharing. THis sheds some light on the "Friar for life" contract we've heard about a lot:
