Needs to improve his SAT score. Has a few more chances to do it. But this is not new news.

It is a sliding scale between his gap and his ACT/SAT test scores. He had a very bad first year of high school which drags down his GPA. Every semester in school now brings that GPA up including his final semester this year. Combine that with continuing to try and improve his test scores and is not as hopeless as it first may sound. That being said between the grades and the injury his is iffy for this year.

Between the knee and the academics this Friar has already placed Owens into a (medical) red shirt...probably best for the young man - take the year to get acclaimated to school and get that knee back to 100%.

He can't come to PC unless he qualifies, right, he would either have to prep or go juco?

Think he can - didn't Ledo? School may be able to accept as a student even if NCAA does not clear him - am I wrong here?

Which question are you answering "yes" to? One question I would have is has he kept up with his school commitments during his operation/rehab time...Hopefully his grades through graduation will be satisfactory and then get the test score. I would agree even with those, the knee which needed two operations may in all likelihood keep him out this season. Will be interesting to see if the is on campus for the second summer session rehab under the training staff.

I must admit to being mystified as to why we are not pushing for another post player. While I like Williams-Goss (for '16) and Lorne Currie, they are not fixes for the frontcourt. Can you imagine if Chukwu or Bentil went down to foul trouble, or worse yet an injury? Yes I understand that Bullock can play the 4. Yes, Fazekas is technically a 4 as well. Nevertheless, I see us as both thin up front and inexperienced.
BTW, there are still 5th year frontcourt players out there to be had. Pittsburgh's Joseph Uchebo comes to mind. But there is a deafening lack of buzz out there regarding our involvement with any of them. I would feel more comfortable if there were.
Edit: I forgot Kyle Washington..but he's a '16 anyways...

You would feel more comfortable I'd staff were pushing for a big....they are doing just that
Easier said then done getting a solid 5th year player or game ready freshman who fits in academically and culturaly.
Again, we are. Not yet elite so we can't just call someone up and book the airline ticket.
Lack of buzz does not mean bushes are not being beaten.

The Orson Welles Diet may not be beneficial for guys re-habbing after knee surgery.
Jury still out and not fair to pre-judge but for crice sakes howsabout a salad on occasion.
Simon was the lead here...like with Paschal and Brandon for those keeping score.
