Interestingly, Billy Donovan is the other name floating out there regarding the OKC job. That might increase our chances with Tomas Murphy.

What a fool Billy D Munster made out of himself the last time he "took" an nba job. He did but the NBA coaching block on him ended this year. His kids are all grown but his father still lives up there. Gainsville is still out in the boonies but it is slowly coming along. I guess if he really wants the NBA, at age 50 he may move this time.

My understanding is that his parents moved to Gainsville years ago, in order to be close to the grandchildren... I'm assuming that they are still there

Gainsville. I believe the mother passed away but the father usually sits close to the bench. But for those not familiar, Gainsville is a college town of about 100,000 surrounded by horse farms in just about every direction. Ironically, they didn't have a Catholic School in the town until Billy D. started the drive to build one.

I'm told former URI, BC coach and current assistant at Bryant Al Skinner is interviewing at Kennesaw State today, no offer yet

Maybe I am reading too much into loyalty, but Billy D just hired a close friend( not only basketball related) in Anthony Grant. Now certainly if Billy heads to the NBA he could take Grant with him. But if he was mulling a move, I would think he would have held off hiring Grant until he made up his mind on OKC.

Andy Katz, ESPN.com Senior Writer
Kennesaw State has hired former national coach of the year Al Skinner to be its next men's basketball coach.
Skinner confirmed the news to ESPN on Sunday. He had most recently been the associate head coach at Bryant University the past two seasons. Al Skinner last was a head coach at Boston College in 2009-10. Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images
The 62-year-old Skinner replaces Jimmy Lallathin, who was fired in March. Lallathin was the interim coach for the final 16 games of the 2013-14 season after Lewis Preston took a medical leave of absence. Kennesaw State, which is located outside Atlanta, finished 10-22 (4-10 Atlantic Sun) last season.
Skinner was the 2001 national coach of the year at Boston College. He is the winningest coach in Boston College history with 247 wins in 13 seasons. He was abruptly fired in 2010 after leading BC to six NCAA tournaments in a seven-year period, including the 2006 Sweet 16.
He won 138 games during nine seasons as the coach at Rhode Island. Skinner counts current NBA players Jared Dudley (Bucks) and Reggie Jackson (Pistons) as former players under him at BC.
Skinner has also been a member of the NCAA Division I men's basketball ethics coalition.
A member of the UMass hall of fame, Skinner's No. 30 jersey hangs in the Mullins Center rafters after scoring 1,235 points during his UMass career from 1971 to 1974.
