The Friars reocurring nightmare:
"Without the three freshmen, the Friars will travel with just six healthy scholarship players, plus two walk-ons."

The NCAA is an embarrassment. How you don't clear good students in time for them to take, perhaps, a once in a lifetime type trip is pathetic. Typical bureaucracy. Makes me sick. And I say this not because the team will be shorthanded for meaningless summer exhibition games but becuase it shows either incompetence or indifference on the part of the NCAA and both are inexcusable as far as I'm concerned.
On a side note, I can't be the only one completely exhausted with reading Friar articles mentioning the team will be shorthanded. Can we someday read one piece absent any discussion of guys NOT playing..........please!

The sad thing is that the NCAA does this because they need to make sure Bentil and Chukwu have no foreign professional experience. Both came here as 14 year olds...is there a pro market for 13 year old African kids???
The NCAA deserves what it gets. A sham of an organization on every way.

I'm with you, Rock When was the last time that PC had a full roster of players, capable of competing at a BE level of play...let alone, play at all? I'm a bid Ed Cooley fan and get as punch drunk as some, where it comes to the elite level of talent he's brought in and continues to pursue. Having said that, the conversion rate of commitments to actual games played has been anemic (thanks again to the NCAA, expulsions, suspensions, transfers and injuries). We're about to enter Year 3 of a roster that's been adversely impacted to the point where we have very little (if any) back court depth. With the open scholarships that we've had since winning the BE Championship, I thought that this exposure would have been addressed...but the addition of Cartwright was offset by the late departure of Fortune. Still thinking there was time to land a capable back court player, I'm beginning to sense that this Year's roster is just about set... That is, up until this most recent development involving the NCAA and it's ineptitude where it comes to player clearance. Hopefully, the NCAA can get it's act together, and finish the job of "qualifying" Bentil and PC asap. Anything less would be inexcusable. Given how the clearance process dragged out for a player of Ricky Ledo's profile - I shudder at the possibility that the process of our two new bigs getting cleared might turn into another set of goat rodeos.

If our 2 frosh bigs are not cleared before school starts then I can only assume the NCAA only cares about appeasing the big 5 and could give two s*its about everyone else. The NCAA is inept at everything.

It stinks that the "Big 3" will not be on this trip...There is a definite feeling around the program that these two will be cleared and playing as opposed to say Ledo.
I am excited to hear how Kyron and Junior do on this trip as they will undoubtedly be the backcourt for the 3 games.

Understanding what the objectives for this trip were, it's a shame that things didn't come together.
I would suspect that our 3 freshman have to be extremely disappointed. Do you know if any member of the staff is going to stay behind to be with them now? Might be a good idea.
