Another nice game for Cotton. He had an off game the other day, but has followed that up with 2 nice games in a row. Overall, I think he has played well. www.nba.com/games/20140717/SASUTA/gameinfo.htmlCheck out the Cotton highlight in the spring loaded video.. ....gotta love friartown...

That was the game, other than that he has held his own. Not saying he deserves a roster spot, but he certainly has held his own. He did seem to play better off the ball than as a PG, and he played PG against Smith..

i don't see it happening...and it's not b/c the nba GMs are morons or bryce cotton is getting screwed...i got killed during the season for calling him a "B" passer and at his size you need to be A++ or an exceptional defender....hope i'm wrong b/c i'd love to see this kid on a roster for a couple years...

Cotton stat line from last night: 16pts; 4 reb; 6 asst; 1 stl; 0 TO.. 6 assist for a "B" passer and averaged 5 assist a game for the summer league. Nice job by a "B" passer.. Cotton made the 3 point play of the tourney on a drive to the hoop. www.nba.com/games/20140719/SASWAS/gameinfo.html....gotta love friartown... ....i have no idea.... ..haven't seen a minute....

Actually did watch a few minutes last night....so you tell me mike...you think cotton makes an nba roster this year?...
..and mike - why did Cooley refuse to give him any PG minutes as a soph?

What does Soph. year have to do with the present?
I see Cotton making an NBA roster as a slim, not because he is a B+ passer, which I disagree with, but because of his size and the numbers game within the NBA. NBA is about size and potential..
I saw many more positives in Cotton's play during the summer league, you however only heard and posted the negative..

Mike: I think you and Walk may be saying the same thing. I also think Bryce is a B passer( as an NBA prospect) but because of his size. I saw one game in the summer league but judging anything is tough because of the playground syle it often reverts to. ButI watched a lot of the NBA playoffs this year and the one thing that stood out to me is the "love of the 3 point shot" in the NBA. Quite often the PG drives into the lane but passes either laterally to the corner or backwards to the top of the key for 3 point shots. I also saw PG's driving along the baseline but passing back out or across to the corner for a 3 instead of dumping into the lane to a big. I think Cotton may be fine on pick and roll passes but his size may be a big problem when he goes inside and tries to pass from the lane or the baseline. Hopefully if he can't make SA's roster a lesser team will give him a shot but I still think he is a long-shot because of his size. But I always defer to DEX on PG analysis.

Bryce is a better player than patty mills and deserves to be on the roster. FLAT OUT. he is an evolving talent with the shot, energy, speed, jumping ability, and yes, the art of the pass. only negative is height, but there have been many guys his size or shorter who made names for themselves in the league. personally, I believe he will have a pretty good career in the nba. also, he is just a guy you want to root for.....

Mills is a career 40%+ NBA 3 point shooter. Cotton didn't shoot 40% at PC. Mills is the same size as Cotton. The problem is Mills was just resigned by San Antonio last week and my guess is they won't carry 2--5'10" PG. Now Mills is going to be out for awhile after his surgery so Cotton may get a look for a while while he recovers. If he plays well maybe another team will pick him up.

Career? he has been in the league one year, maybe two. I still believe in Bryce's talent. is he already like MarShon, where so many of the pc fans have turned on him?

Better than mills....in what?....summer pickup games?.... I'm sure the spurs wish Bryce was better so they didn't have to pay mills and could use the money elsewhere....but what does that front office know....

Player A during Summer league play: 24.7 mpg; 29%FG; 22% 3pt.;65% FT; 2.3RPG; 3.9APG; 4.3 TO/g; 9.8 pts/g
Player B during Summer League play: 21.5MPG; 45% FG; 23% 3pt.; 93%FT; 2.7RPG; 2.8 APG; .67 TO/g; 8.8 pts/g
Since nobody watched more than a handful of minutes or 1 summer league game, based on the above which player should be on an NBA roster?
