CLARKSTOWN – Brendan Kelly of New City, a member of the class of 2015 at Providence College in Rhode Island, participated in the college’s spring International Immersion trip to Haiti from May 27 to June 1.
Kelly, a mathematics and theology major, along with seven other Providence College students, volunteered at the Louverture Cleary School, a boarding school in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti. The school provides a tuition-free education to 350 children. The Providence students assisted with teaching classes, planned activities and got to know students and staff. They were accompanied by the Rev. James Cuddy, college chaplain, and Sarah Atwood, a campus minister for Providence College.
