First time ever by defeating the westerly bulldogs...oops I mean puppydogs 9-0 and 7-2 at legendary McCoy Stadium in the best of 3 two game sweep.

McKanna no hits them in the 1st game and Hodnett blanks them the final 6 innings in the 2nd game.

Seen weeping in the grandstand were westerly natives and FTH posters BC Joe and mikemc

many citizens in L'il Rhody are encouraging westerly to annex itself to Connecticut because many of their residents have been seen attending sporting events in some village named storrs

Typical RIIL allows one school to reschedule a playoff game around graduation, but not the other school. This caused WHS to play 6 consecutive days, in either EP or Pawtucket. Unprecedented scheduling for a HS baseball team.

Congrats to Gansett for FINALLY winning a state championship in baseball.
