On Saturday, May 12, 2012 you are invited to join us as we relive the memories and celebrate all the accomplishments of this special team with a 15th anniversary celebration at the Westin Hotel in Providence. It will long be remembered as one of the greatest seasons in Providence College basketball history. Providence College Head Coach then, Pete Gillen had the luxury of having his talented squad play its best basketball of the season in March. Led by seniors Austin Croshere, Ruben Garces and Derrick Brown, and sophomores God Shammgod and Jamel Thomas, the 10th-seeded Friars entered the NCAA Tournament without a lot of fanfare as the squad had posted a 21-11 mark during the regular season. However, that all changed when the Friars upset eighth-ranked Duke to earn a trip to the Sweet 16 and then came within one jump shop of defeating eventual national champion Arizona in the Elite Eight. Reserved Tables with 10 guests are $1,500 which include a commemorative 1997 Elite 8 Basketball with program. There will be a limited number of general admission tickets available for this event. No tables will be reserved with general admission tickets. The cost of a GA ticket is $97 per person. All proceeds will benefit the men's basketball Mullaney Fund. For sponsorship opportunities please call Steve Napolillo at (401) 865-2677 alumni.providence.edu/s/1226/social.aspx?sid=1226&gid=1&pgid=1543&cid=2877&ecid=2877&crid=0&calpgid=299&calcid=949

The way it's been the past 8 years, PC may start to have banquets for NCAA appearances.
