Friars lose it 1-0...
Had the overall territorial edge, 1 crossbar and one post hit, just couldn't get it over the line.

The Good: road win with 2g, coming off tight loss without complete squad. Return to lineup of Davock (huge assist) who did not play last game. Recruit Scarborough got his first g in 2-1 final. Both goals getting late 2h, 2 mins apart. x.com/PCFriarsMSoccer/status/1835125646130844051 Not so good: still nothing from Midfield and no O'Brien yet this season. Few shots on goal, no goals in first half making it 3 straight halfs with no scores. Bryant: believe this is the first match up there ever and very nice W to get, as B have completely advanced their program and could win their league this year. Will PC Bb ever go to Smithfield, No.Most artistic goal so far for '24: x.com/PCFriarsMSoccer/status/1835121875493544205

I saw the game, Friars survived a penalty shot late in game when Hall shooter sent ball sailing over the net.
Seton Hall came in undefeated at 6-0 ranked 8th in country.
Friars scored the only goal of game in first half on some nice passing. They had plenty of other chances throughout. PC goalie made a big save earlier in the second half to keep SH off the board.

83:21 SHU Virgil Dall'Agnol PENALTY KICK MISS.
I didn't realize they survived a "PK." There were very few shots (5) for SH and only 1 on goal. I know they rated 8th? but that comes off an unbeaten rec. amongst a not very impressive, OOC schedule. Pearce O'Brien played his first Min's which is a good thing. Leading scorer Lora, didn't play in match.

That first goal was definitely strange one moment looks like goalie caught it next it is in the net.
Brown scored on a header off a corner to tie it in second half. Friars scored on a free kick from outside box that looked to fool Brown goalie for the game winner.

Friars with a come from behind 2-2 tie against Bluejays at home last night. Scoring with 4 seconds left.
"The No. 18 Providence College men's soccer team tied the Creighton Bluejays (4-2-3), 2-2, in a conference matchup on Saturday, Sept. 28 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The Friars moved to a 6-2-2 overall, including a 1-0-1 mark in BIG EAST play. Junior Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal) scored twice for the Friars, including the game-tying goal with four seconds left in regulation."
"-The Friars nearly took the lead in the eighth minute when Israel Neto's (Salvador, Brazil) shot rebounded off the crossbar. The ball fell to Harry Scarborough (Wigan, England), but his follow-up attempt was cleared off the line by a defender. - The Bluejays quickly shifted the momentum and took a 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the first half. - The Friars nearly tied the game just minutes later, but Scarborough's header bounced off the post. - Creighton doubled its lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 47th minute. - With 30 minutes to play, the Friars were awarded a penalty kick after Gabriel Chavez (Wethersfield, Conn.) was fouled in the box. Rosa's attempt was initially saved, but he converted the rebound to put the Friars on the board (2-1). - In the closing seconds, Brandon Marshall (Wake Forest, N.C.) fired a shot that was deflected by the goalkeeper. Rosa pounced on the rebound and netted the equalizer with four seconds left. - The Friars outshot the Bluejays, 17-12."

*SIO preview, that Rosa had moved passed Lora as leading goal scorer. What they didn't say: their leading goal scorer -Lora- has not dressed for the last 4 matches.
*Jr. Batista, who they felt was going to be their most adept MF didn't dress this afternoon. He has no assists this season. Sr. Back Dewhurst played 45m didn't come out for the 2nd half. He av.'s close to 90m a match. Gtn scored 3 times in that second 45m.
* A So. and Fr. saw their first action of their careers in the second half. Hard to know what to make of that in such a big contest, other that it was necessary, not out of choice.

Several key players out now *, a few have sat more than they have played (return, who knows). Two lightening delays and an apparent canceling of last 10 minutes or so, got a 1-0 win in Milw. this afternoon. * leading scorer B. Rosa DNP. Neither did #2 GS P.Lora or MF D.Batista or Fr/MF Chavez. Two reeserve Backs who normally see some action, got none? x.com/PCFriarsMSoccer/status/1845185334423777319
