I like him..I want him to stay with PC but I have concerns with him as a 30+ min pg for the team next year. He turns it over too much and plays out of control sometimes. I think some of this will be fixed as he develops but a lot of times guards are either prone to turn the ball over or they aren't. I actually think he would be great off the ball because he is a really good shooter. I can see him at 40% from three, but with his size I am not sure how he can be anything but a 1. If you can pair him with a big strong lead guard I think you can get away with him being a bit undersized in the backcourt. Garway could have been that guy but I don't see that happening for him at PC.
Thoughts?

Spot on.
I am of the opinion that the player handling the ball is prone to turning it over; not a trait for a point guard to have. There was a play last night ( in the first half?) where Pierre overdribbled into the paint that led to a turnover when he might have dished to an open Ticket in the corner. Though, poor Ticket has been so off his shooting tough lately.
I always have Dex’s learned opinion in mind that “ this game of ours” is “ a big business “ which makes me think that Dual ( and his “advisors” for greener (NIL $$) pastures.
I would like him to remain and develop into the guard that his potential suggests. I could see him playing along side Pierre and both making improved decisions sharing some of the pg minutes with Jayden freeing both to drive and attempt open 3 point shooting and assisting other scorers.
Seems Providence coaches can integrate and develop their skill sets to create, assist, and score making them powerful options for team play.

You both make interesting points and I would like to add that all of the younger players were asked to take on more than perhaps they were ready for. Floyd at various points played point, shooting guard, wing and power forward. Dual went back and forth between point and shooting guard and occasionally wing..etc. Pierre was under hi expectations from the staff and had mixed results. Playing out of position or changing positions requires a level of development and maturity that these young men had not reached in their first year of substantial playing time. There is no questioning their commitment , energy or intensity. Heck, they just are young. Each showed flashes of skills that can be reached and developed. At least the guards did. Barron was the anomaly , perhaps because our expectations of him were nil. If English does in fact bring in additional " dudes" that will allow these guys to play their normal positions and develop their skills I think each of them will become very good BE level players.

Couldn’t agree more about the fact that everyone was asked to step up and in some instances, play out of position at times. With the right composition and depth, a roster that’s more aligned with Kim’s system should enable returnees to revert to whatever role they’d be naturally fit to play in - be it as a starter or reserve.

I am confident in saying that we will all be disappointed in next years outcome, if we are unable to bring in some point guard veteran leadership.
Cost us a bid this year.

Agree Yankee..but it gets complicated as you know. A veteran pg in the portal is going to want minutes..and Pierre isnt going to want to stay if he isn't the lead guy. Similar situation to what we saw with Odoru and all the transfer bigs we went after.
In the transfer portal/NIL world that we live in..Chris Rogers ain't walking through that door anymore

One of the impacts of NIL and roster turnover is that it has turned many fans into defacto General Managers...

Could ably play both guard positions.

I think we need Pierre to come back, but also need to add a pass first veteran PG. Someone who can play with Pierre and/or Dion Brown (if we get him) and add some stability

Watching last night, I said to myself that Pierre is a better 2 than he is a point. Bring on an assist guy. PIZZA,SODA,GRINDERS!!!

Funny we wanted JP to play over Bynum and perhaps JP is Bynum, a 2G in a point guard body?

Pierre’s passing and vision was better last year, at least it feels that way

Complicated or not, it needs to be figured out. Pierre and Dual played 62 combined minutes last night and had 2 assists total. Our starting center had 4. If Pierre walks, he walks. We need to get better at the PG spot.
