I had the same starting 5 with AJ at 2 and Duke at 3. But virtually the same. Hope Gantt pushes someone.
Realizing he was a Freshman, Monroe showed me less than nothing, so zero expectations.

My bad!
I totally forgot about Greg Gantt, and would also love to see him push someone for playing time. That said, I adjusted by projectiong.
Thanks, Yankee.

I like our starters, but fear the bench. Who’s everyone got as 6th man?
I pray I hear other credible opinions than White and the great unknown in Holt, although a healthy Holt will be the best in my opinion.
Cause as of today, while he wouldn’t start, Jackson would be the 6th man which he sometimes was on a mediocre team last year.

My guess is white will be first guard off the bench, nichols first 3/4 and moves alpha to the 3...young first 5 - hopefully all have improved their ball handling...,.gonna need to find some gantt minutes. And once again our rock fight style doesn't lend itself to playing more than 7.5....plus we now don't have the guard depth to go uptempo. The odds are in our favor to be better, but it ain't the slam dunk that I'm reading about.

I am thinking we are slightly better, as in bubble. I have more faith in us being better because we added Pipkins, than in the idea that any of the returnees made a Tony Turner, Troy Brown, Herb Hill, Cotton or Bentil type leap.
And guys ranked as high as Duke and Reeves, should be fully capable of making that leap.

I thought AJ was our 3 or did he transfer too Thought AJ was the 2? Who’d you have there? Maliek? 😀 I think the 2/3 will be interchangeable at times with Duke/AJ. But to me Duke is more of a 2 and AJ a 3 based on ball-handling. In Pan AM games Duke played the 1 and 2. Depending on the situation, Duke could play the 1,2 or 3.

As mentioned previously, ball handling can't improve enough.....regardless of 3stars opinion.

Great question yank and the larger question, often lost in today’s college game, is who will/can step up??
Herb Hill stepping onto the court as a Senior is the poster boy for the WOW factor. Cotton showed steady progression over his 4 years.
So many have talent; few have the work ethic to step up and out - agree this is the unknown we need and hope to see with our Friars.
