I said nothing about a bet, just that I expect when the coaches gather and pick where teams are to finish prior to the season starting, with the way our team is currently constructed, I think we would be picked 8-10. I hope we land a couple of guards who can push us higher. If the roster stays intact we can setup a bet. My guess is it won't for better, or worse.

As the rosters sit today, I think we'd be picked ahead of DePaul and butler...not sure why we'd be picked ahead of anyone else.

I agree with Yank's prediction. Unless the staff pulls off a recruiting miracle I see us making some improvement but not enough to be in the top tier. I was never quite able to understand why the league coaches picked us third in the preseason poll. I knew we were going to have to rely on freshmen who would need time to develop and some sophomores who had not shown as freshman that they were ready to be stars. I think it is time for Ed and Blaney to get out the passports and go hunting for some tall kids with a lot of consonants in their names who can shoot the basketball.

Guaranteed if that was Duke going to hoop there would have been a foul called. A lot of contact

So the officials missed not one but 2 calls on that FT rebound...and one of those refs was one of our Big East guy.... Calling Thumper themick, I was immediately screaming and called my coaching friends. Two-hander! I could understand the lead not making that call as, after administrating the foul shot, he was on the opposite side and was straight-lined BUT the center official has to close down a bit on the foul shot, going almost below foul line. If so, he's wide and should have had a great angle. Not sure where O'Connell was in that rotation but he is always a weak link. Sad ending of a very entertaining game. And Mikey, that's your second T in two weeks. One more and wtm97 told he's thinking about a short suspension coming your way! PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Lets not forget the jokers posing as refs at the BET this year. I call upon Val to can that incompetent fool Cahill with dispatch....like tomorrow. Johnny Cahill is among the best. He can't ref every game himself, having retired. But dex, as I have previously tried to explain to you and others, the BE is in a cooperative relationship with the ACC, the A10, the CAA, the Patriot, the Big South, the MEAC, the NE and the NE10. Johnny Cahill and Bryan Kersey (both of whom I've talked to) coordinate the scheduling and no official is exclusive to the BE. So what you're saying is all refs are jokers. Coming from someone who has probably never worn the black and white stripes, that is surprising. It's too late for you to take the tests and get badged, to work the rec leagues, AAU, and the high school at all levels (the typical training grounds) before getting college gigs. But, as I used to tell the officials I trained, once you study the rules and get out on the court, only then will you realize how tough the job is. I told them that you will also realize how little you know about basketball. One of the Ivy schools once did a study and, after wiring the officials for brains for stimulus', stated that the average college official has to make 10,000 decisions (calls or no calls) in a game. I respect the job they do. I wish you would as well. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Well let me say this about that Thumper.
You and your colleagues that were charged with the responsibility of training these jokers should give the money back from whence it came.
Thanks for edifying me as to who the real culprits are in this debacle
...and turn in that damn badge professor
