Team made just enough baskets, just enough free throws, grabbed just enough rebounds, played just enough defense, survived the suspect calls to somehow advance.
I am going to let it go and look ahead just to the next game.

Wow, ball is not out until it hits the floor, right....
Put that one down for a long list of bad calls by that team (both ways by the way)

Put that one down for a long list of bad calls by that team (both ways by the way) That's how I've always understood it, friarman - and according to that interpretation the call couldn't be clearer...the Creighton kid touched the ball last. Hoping Thumper can weigh in after breaking down the video.

2 things were obvious in front of our bench -
1) the ball was in bounds by about 3 feet 2) it was touched by the Creighton kid out of bounds after the tip
Now the ref's head was turned so he didn't see the Creighton kid hit the ball. BUT 10 minutes of replay should have done the trick.

Didn’t see this thread when I posed the question again just now, but it definitely deserves its own.....anyone? How the hell did the forensic detective calling the game notice the ring finger (which was inconclusive and the ball never appeared altered) yet miss this blatant end of the play, how did Cooley and his staff not protest this? And of course how did the 3 blind mice miss it on replay for 5 minutes? I must be missing something....walk explain how we’re all morons and the refs are the best please?

Exactly. This call was also part of a rather rough stretch for the officials, with the Friars being subjected to the hammer. The offensive charge called on Jackson was a clear Creighton flop. Soon after, Diallo was fouled on the defensive rebound, which would have lead to FTs; however a jump ball was called.

Thanks for posting that clip. Didn't see it live as I was listening to Rooke and Joe and they were all over the refs during the game. They did not mention this aspect of the call, but to make things worse they said that John Cahill, Big East Supervisor of Officials joined in the video review. Yikes

Hey ‘82 don’t count on Robbie The Robotic Ref to bring clarity to the preposterously bad call. He will claim the video was tampered with at the score’stable and is Fake News.
Remember and never ever forget, Thumper was a huge supporter of Cahill getting the job.
This season proves conclusively that Cahill has hired bums and needs to be put out to pasture just like Robbie.

He was there supervising the replay call. As has been stated, the "ring finger call" really hinged on what came after with X player standing on the end line and touching the ball out of bounds before it hit the floor. Thought for sure that alone would have sealed the call in Friars' favor.
In the end.... the controversial call did not affect the outcome of the game.
