Nate has a better stat line than Lindsey in only 18 minutes of play..
Is Nate a better defender now that he had 3 blocked shots today?
Thought he was slow Dex??
....gotta love friartown...

I'd settle for him actually going for a rebound when a shot goes up. It's like his feet are in cement when he doesn't have the ball.
How many of Govan's 20 points and 11 boards happened when Nate was on the floor?
His offense is very good, the rest of game needs serious work.

...and '82 it's even a bigger problem on Defense, unless your guarding a stump, which is quite evident and he doesn't get back on D fast enough after misses nor does he get back to his post man after flashing out on an opposing Guard at the circle
Kenny White will have him gasping for air as he tries to traverse running and hopping in the old 20 tires side by each....he will get it and be much better next year

I'm confident that Nate will be a Monster on both ends by the time he leaves PC. Love for him to spend time with Bentil this coming summer.

Umm...say shots from 2-6 foot range protected by his massive body. C'mom Nut...you think the kid's quick? Quick is Ben ... Nate needs to add agile & Mobile to hostile AND not just on Offense maybe U R bustin on me, if so then LOL bec I can take a joke I think it depends where his weight is next October. Ben was 235 and Watson is 260. Maybe if he sheds 20 he will gain some quickness. The good thing besides the points today was the 3 blocks and no turnovers.

Probably Watson's best game as a Friar.

Bentil was very ball quick.

Very true Nutty ..I agree completely.
Nate just needs to be quickER and not as quick as sf because he is a PF One can be big and strong and still quick like say the Mailman
Most fans mistakenly dwell on Offense Offense Offense but not me
When Nate gets quicker his Defense will improve and his boarding....there aren't many James Harden's who can play in the nba without playing a lick of Defense

WASHINGTON — As the weeks fall off the calendar and college basketball’s biggest games in March begin to come into view, any win is nice to stash in your back pocket.
The victory that Providence College carried back home from Capital One Arena on Saturday certainly falls into that category. In a game the Friars were "desperate to win,” according to coach Ed Cooley, the team’s leaders stepped up in crunch time in a 74-69 victory over Georgetown.
The gut-check win keeps the Friars firmly in the NCAA Tournament hunt with an 18-11 record and a 9-7 mark in the Big East.
“Every game is big now,” said senior Kyron Cartwright, who stepped up with 16 points and 9 assists. “This game, they’re still in the first year with a new coaching staff but you can tell they have the pieces there. Fortunately I think we made the right plays at the right time. That helped us out.”
The combination of Cartwright, Alpha Diallo and Rodney Bullock proved to be too much for a Hoyas team that had recorded recent wins over Seton Hall and Butler yet continues to invent new ways to lose. Diallo came up with 14 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds, while Bullock tossed in five 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 19 points.
PC, which beat Georgetown for an eighth straight time, plays at No. 4 Xavier on Wednesday and has assured itself of at least a .500 record in the Big East.
Cooley said he felt Cartwright controlled the pace “from start to finish,” and was thrilled with final totals of 22 assists (nine each from Cartwright and Diallo) and just four turnovers.
“That was huge. I was proud of our guys and our execution,” Cooley said. “To have 22 assists and only four turnovers, on the road, in a game where I thought we were desperate to win, was big. We were really desperate coming off two tough losses.”
Jessie Govan led the Hoyas (15-12, 5-11) with 20 points, but only six in the second half. He was dominant at times in the opening 20 minutes.
PC made just three of its first 13 shots and before long Govan got rolling and the Hoyas sprinted out to a 23-15 lead. The Friars were a miserable 6-for-21 from the floor at that point and then, miraculously, awoke. A 8-0 run book-ended by 3-pointers from Diallo and Bullock tied the game at 23. The Hoyas came right back to score the next seven points but some good work in the lane by freshman Nate Watson and more 3s from Bullock and Diallo cut the deficit to 36-35 with 1:29 to play.
Georgetown scored the final two hoops of the half, with Govan slamming in a rebound with two seconds left. That gave the Hoyas a 40-35 halftime edge with the home team rolling along on 54.8 percent (17 of 31) shooting.
The game turned in the second half thanks to a dramatic decrease in offensive efficiency by the Hoyas. With Govan blanketed on defense, the Hoyas made just one of their first six shots, opening the door for the Friars and Cartwright to take advantage. The point guard drained two straight 3-pointers to begin a 10-0 run for a 51-46 lead and PC never trailed again. Georgetown continued to struggle and the Friars pushed the lead to 61-52 with eight minutes left.
“We just have to keep giving our best effort on defense,” said Watson. “We can’t slack off at all. When we do, games turn around on us.”
PC's lead peaked at 64-53 with 7:48 left on a Jalen Lindsey 3-pointer. From that point on the Hoyas dug in and kept making gains off three-quarter court pressure. A Govan 3-pointer (for his 1,000th career point) cut the deficit to 66-62 and a Marcus Derrickson hoop inside with 1:11 left cut it to 70-69.
“If I was them, I would’ve done the same thing because they got it down to a one-possession game,” Cooley said. “We had two, three turnovers against it and two quick, missed shots that helped them.”
PC called a timeout and the offense delivered with Diallo gliding into the lane and scoring while getting fouled with 42 seconds left. He then missed the free throw, keeping the Hoyas within range at 72-69.
Georgetown had time but seemed to look only for a 3-pointer. The Friars pressured that away and Jahvon Blair missed a wild runner in the lane that Bullock rebounded.
Bullock was fouled with 12.6 seconds on the clock and hit both ends of a one-and-one to give the Friars a five-point lead and the win.

He seems to have a hard time staying with his man and keeping track of ball at same time. Yesterday a loose ball rolled right past him and he didn't even move. It was a little odd and even the announcer(Lappas I believe) said " wow that ball shouldn't of went through someone has to grab that" Good rule of thumb is "Hand On Man/Eye On Ball" U don't have to really look at your man if u know how to play defense It won't get him quicker but it will keep him better prepared and put him in better spots if he's not able to develop his quickness
