Is the the door opening for the Baller league .. Good question, friarman. It appears that some of these kids and their parents are looking for a quick play day, no matter how small. Big question - what sort of competition will LaVar Ball be able to kick up? Based upon what I've read, his younger son has a chance to be drafted once he gets beyond the age of 16. The middle kid however, doesn't have what it will take to get drafted, and playing in Lithuania isn't going to develop his game to the point where he'd even be considered. That is, so long as Daddy doesn't attempt to "package" him in either LaMelo's of the youngest kid's Contracts.

I've been thinking about that. Between the underperformers and the recent rash of programs being implicated by the FBI report, there are a number of name programs which will have openings in the near future. I wonder how quickly schools on the FBI list will move to make a change with nothing more then allegations. Then you have to wonder how quickly the NCAA will move to punish the most egregious violators - hopefully in a manner where their programs are radioactive, from the standpoint of reloading/rebuilding right away.

Chris Mack can probably have the UL job if he wants it But would he take it at this point? Is Louisville prepared to big $$$, or will the school take a half step back from the big $$$ table in order to regain the grounding it lost under RP? Mack is riding a nice waive of momentum at Xavier right now and has the Muskies positioned for a #1 Seeding in the NCAA Tournament. Granted, he's going to lose a few key pieces this offseason, but I suspect he'll reload nicely.

I was under the impression from articles when their latest scandal surfaced that they were having severe financial difficulties and might even be evicted from the Yum yum Center.
I guess they could get boosters to cough up big for the right guy and enter the arms race again. Maybe an apparel company will foot the salary of a new coach? Just think about what I am saying and what depths college sports has descended to.....nothing is going to change very much I suspect.

I read from a guy who's pretty tuned in that the Cards could have-in spite of difficulties-- got a name right after Rick but decided to see where things go first with the NCAA?
And yes they are prob' confident that they can beat Rick in his lawsuit for his future $$ saving millions. But for the right guy I do think they would pay anything even if they have to go into debt to do it. It's that important to their identity.

I was under the impression from articles when their latest scandal surfaced that they were having severe financial difficulties and might even be evicted from the Yum yum Center. Louisville is only facing financial problems if you consider a $48 million budget shortfall in the current year a problem. Or if you consider and additional $1.1 million dollar cut at midyear from their budget a problem. Or if you consider a $3 million shortfall in expected ticket revenue in basketball a problem. Or if you consider an $8.3 million cut in next year's budget a problem. Or if you consider that they will probably have to reach a settlement on the $40 million left on the contract of Rick Pitino and the $10 million left on the contract of Tom Jurich a problem. Or if you consider that they've lost over $1 million in lost sponsorships this year a problem. Or if you consider the fact that they've been notified by the Yum Center that their sweetheart financial deal is unsustainable and will have to change to avoid bankruptcy a problem. Or if you consider declining revenues due to the fact that they've been dealing with academic probation from their accrediting agency a problem. Or if you consider the fact that they are awaiting an announcement from the NCAA that the football team is under investigation for recruiting and other violations a problem. If you ignore those things, they're fine and should have no trouble spending big money on a new coach.

I predict that UL’s next coach will be Top 10 in pay.

This person thinks that Kevin Ollie keeps his job? The Pitt coach probably comes back? Terrible analysis.
