Why am I having such a hard time trusting this team? Even after a true stake-in-the-ground win I see trouble all over the upcoming road and have a hard time getting us to ten conference wins. In any event, Go Friars!

Skipped over the Casula part of being a Friar fan, as my Dad is a PC grad and talked of Ernst, Flynn, Walker, Riorden, etc. I was on board right away with Campbell & Eason. Went to every game as a student in the Rick Barnes years.
The last few years - almost getting spoiled with success.

In any event, Go Friars! I have an easy solution for your dilemma, rock. Savor last night's win. Regale in the students enthusiasm rushing the court. Enjoy the day. Recall our wins over Washington and BC (both teams better than advertised). Smile broadly at our beating Xavier, Creighton, Butler et'al. It's a wonderful day to wear our PC swag! ENJOY! PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Became a fan in 1978, my brother's freshman year at PC. I arrived as a freshman in 1981. I remember the days of the Industrial National Bank Classic.

Became a fan in the early sixties. Remember the great NIT teams and the friar victory rally at the city hall. As a kid I would listen to all the friar games and keep score at home listening to Chris Clark. The Gavitt undefeated freshman team with Walker and company was one of my favorites. Walker,Westbrook and Billy Blair would visit my friends sister and we would shoot some hoops in his backyard. When the Civic Center opened up I got season tickets and have been hooked ever since. Although I never went to PC I have followed and supported them throughout all these years. It helps me get thru some of these New England winters.

GO FRIARS!!!![/quote]Super win! I should have listened to #dexthekingofalternativefacts. Sitting with you, Backcourt Joe and thefriarman, dex called for a Friar victory.
On the way home, I listened to John & Joe and Hassett said Jalen was the Player of the Game with great defense and big minutes on the heal of a concussion.
As an aside, got home at 11:30 then up at 3:30 this morning to head to Fort Myers on business. At Logan, I ran into Dick Vitale and his wife (he was doing the Celtics last night and heading to his Lakewood Ranch home and his breakfast restaurant in Siesta Key). Coincidently, I'm playing golf at Lakewood Ranch Saturday. Anyways, seeing my PC hat, he talked about our great victory over Nova. He has a place in his heart for PC. I reminded Dick at his hosting Midnight Madness in the Rick Barnes era. He had many in the crowd both laughing and crying as he regaled us with story after story. He faced a lot of adversity, losing his eye at an early age.
It's great to be a Friar any day but especially today!!! And congrats to the students for their support.

Thump: Either your post is 6 years old or there has been some major changes w Dickie V. Dick lived in Sarasota and used to eat breakfast at the Broken Egg in Siesta Key. He then moved to Lakewood Ranch. Now with traffic that can be a major commute but Dick used to go very early. Lakewood Ranch boomed and Broken Egg then opened a 2nd location right in Lakewood Ranch. Dick held court there and they even reserved a section for him to sell his merchandise. But a couple of years ago the Lakewood Ranch location went out of business. Dick then moved his breakfast and merchandise to another breakfast site in the same shopping center. I believe the original Broken Egg also folded. I would assume Dick is still going to the new one he set up shop in. Stay cool in the heat down here.

He could of been just trying to be nice. Either way, I'll look for it and may even get down to Siesta Key later. Two things I remember ... best sand in the US and the guy wearing the banana sling. Looked like Dex. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Lenny Wikens, Mike Riordan, Ernie D - as pros.
No Friars broadcasts in B&W tv days in my home. No radio broadcasts either.
Followed PC basketball because of the three pros named above. Special place in my heart forMike Riordan as witnessed him taking down a whining, complaining Dave Cowan at the inaugural Gillette One on One Contest, getting to “21” well before Dave, neatly picking him apart with his drives and shots as Mike showed Dave who the “real” MVP was in 1973. 🙂

Shout out to Rodney. Great game. Some huge baskets in the second half. Most emotion we have seen in a while. We are definitely at our best when Rodney gets it going. Just makes everyone else so much harder to contain.

I don’t think I was ever a casual Friar fan. Got a taste watching the mid to late '60's Friars on TV while my brother was a student but got hooked going to the Civic Center and seeing magical Ernie D., Marvin and Kevin on the greatest Friar team ever.
