Not that this would ever happen but...
Technically, could PC petition the NCAA for a 6th year medical waiver? How was the paperwork submitted to the NCAA for his 1st year? Was is it a suspension or a redshirt?

First off the story got so much publicity the paperwork doesn't matter and secondly falsifying documents would be a major NCAA violation that I'm sure PC administration would avoid. now if this was Chapel Hill you may have a point..

I was not suggesting falsifying documents. Just wasn't sure how it went down. Bullock wasn't suspended by the NCAA, it was a school suspension, so if the school said it was submitting for a redshirt year, nothing is falsified.
Ever hear of Javonn Pinkston for Nova? Look him up... school suspended him for a year and he still played 4 years. He took a redshirt.

FriarNut - with an enlightened post like that, you need to participate in the "Carolina Way" string on the OT Board.

Agreed on the 5 to play 4.
Then again, it still feels as if Abdul Mills played his four seasons over the course of 12 years.

How many years was Sam Bowie playing in college? Seems as if he was there for 7 years before going to the NBA.

If the official redshirt season came during his injury season, I wouldn't think twice about it.
I've always respected Rodney for sticking it out. In the end, he was a good Providence Friar and we were lucky to have him. Especially this season. But this season is providing Rodney with an opportunity to get his team to the NCAAs again and create a bit of a legacy. His supporting cast is good enough, but I wish Dickens was getting minutes and bailing the defense out when it so frequently needs a bailout.
