It's back to the Keno and TW days. The season is over before MLK weekend.

I'm good with it. Injuries or not, we should have enough to be sitting with 3 losses right now.
Play the youngsters...take our beatings....could be enough to get us dancing next year...

Kalif Young is the one that sticks in my craw...if the light doesn't go on in his head, we are screwed...and maybe not for just this year. I wonder if he is cut out for competitive sports? WTF he's got a year under his belt and he's just as bad as our frosh if not worse.

So far, he’s not even close to being a Big East caliber player...seems like a smart kid who hustles, but it is a problem when he can’t contribute on either end of the floor.

I was in the camp that his free-throws are better, but who really cares, he's been just plain bad. There have been a lot of things that have frustrated me over the 1st 12 games, but his play has been the #1 frustration. #2 How bad the offense looks with MAL running the point #3 how bad our guards are at stopping any dribble drives #4 falling behind in the 1st 4-8 minutes every game

Watching the game last night I was looking for a bright spot for Kalif Young.
Sometime in the first half after a Friar missed shot, he hustled back on defense quite noticeably - busted his tail getting back.
I thought that he and then maybe others on the team have gotten the message to get back to defend.
I thought that maybe it will come together for him with in game playing time and experience.
(I preface these thoughts by noting that I have not read the game thread yet).

The light bulb is off Dad, has been all season. You can't sugarcoat his play in any way, shape or form.

Unfortunately the NCAA invite is looking very bleak barring a miraculous Big East season. I don't envision this team turning it around enough to win enough Big East games to punch their ticket. Disappointing.

I can't argue with The Animal's logic. I'm sure there's a few 24 carat Homer's who are still holding out but that's fine...I just don't want fans getting sick over this team and it's forgettable seniors. We need our great Coach to keep trying to coach-up non-seniors for a respectable 2nd half showing leading to hope for next year. It's such a shame given the explosion of season ticket sales now over 7,000. Not a day goes by now that I don't have an email from PC trying to induce folks to buy tix for individual games and mini-packs featuring free popcorn, soda and dogs. I commend their efforts.

I'm concerned about MAL, based upon his actions on the bench last night. Very concerned.

Young has gone from my favorite Friar, to the one from whom I've gotten my strap and heading off with him behind the woodshed. He's playing like he has mono. For further reading I suggest my post at the end of the Houston game thread. PS: Although there's steam blowing out my ears, there's nothing I'd like better than to see Kalif get it together and to fulfill the promise in him that we saw last year.

I'm concerned about MAL, based upon his actions on the bench last night. Very concerned. Guessing this is the first time (or first in a long time) he has been getting a tongue lashing from the head coach. This is where the assistants have to step in and talk to the kid. And for the head coach to cool down....
