I was there. Nate Watson was there and spoke about how he views his role. He was very well-spoken, and said he wanted to listen his game in a manner similar to Angel Delgado. Here also talked about how his family and friends would be watching their games, and he "doesn't want to suck in front of them."
Coach Cooley talked about how they were trying to mix things up, and he used 32 different combinations in the first eighteen minutes, whereas they usually use between twelve and twenty for a game. He said that they will play Saturday's game in a style similar to their regular season approach.
There was no mention of any injuries or disciplinary actions.

Very impressed by Watson...I'm rooting for this kid to become a star....Coach sounded focused on business...he's ready for games and wants no early season slip ups...the battle for the number 2 guy behind Kyron hasn't been decided yet but, in my opinion, MAL will be the second point guard and Maliek will be more of a scorer...
Again, Watson is a focused, polite young man who likes the classroom...thinking of becoming a psychology major....Cooley thinks that he will become a legendary player at PC...

I just had the opportunity to listen to a replay of the Nate Watson segment during my lunch. Ed has HIGH PRAISE for Nate, stating that: His ceiling is "as high as he wants it to be"; He's one of the most physical players he's recruiting since Day-1; Nate has the potential of becoming a Dennis Rodman/Ben Wallace type of rebounder - telling Nate that both made it to the Hall of Fame based on Rebounding (as opposed to scoring) May Ed's prediction (above) be as accurate as the projection that he made during LaDontae Henton's freshman year (Watch: 2:46 thru 3:31 mark of the following link): www.youtube.com/watch?v=4G2zZOfSV2w

Rodman/Wallace is high praise indeed. I'd be MORE than pleasesd should young Mr Watson approach the Angel Delgado comparison....

Thanks '82 for sharing those cool words about Buckets that our great Coach spoke about some 120 lbs ago.
I hope Coach is spot-on about Big Nate also.
Meanwhile last year Coach said that Kalif Young will eventually be a household name in FriarTown because of his rebounding prowess. I hope he's right and let it all begin for Kalif tomorrow.
